Matt Heafy discussed the past MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD and HATEBREED tour as part of a recent interview:

“My whole band and the whole crew was inoculated. I also had COVID, so I was as immune as I could possibly be, but I still stuck to all the rules. And I know that maybe some people unfortunately roll their eyes when they hear about it, but what I think about it is I see it as a virus; it’s a disease. I’ve had a bunch of damn vaccinations. Every time you go to South America, you have to get vaccinated and build up your immunity if you’re going to be around the jungle. My children are almost three years old. When they were little, they were vaccinated for polio, smallpox, measles, and hepatitis. The same way I feel about the current state of affairs, “I want to give concerts, and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure no one misses our set at any damn show.” So we had the vaccine, we still wore masks everywhere except the dressing room, the stage and the bus. You know how much I love food. We made sure that every one of our days off was spent outdoors – outdoors, without friends. Because we wanted the shows to happen.

Given how strictly we controlled everything, if anyone suddenly wondered, like, “Man, this is a little too much,” the proof is in the success of the concerts. We got out of that situation without cancelling a single show. Canada is obviously postponed, rescheduled – not cancelled. It’s a different territory, a different country, so it doesn’t concern us. And we’re damn glad. It was terrific. Five to ten thousand people in an evening. It’s crazy for metal – that many people come to see HATEBREED, TRIVIUM, LAMB OF GOD and MEGADETH. So it was amazing. We had some of the best concerts of our career!”
