| Eine Liebe, ein Versprechen | One love, one promise |
| Sagt’ ich komm zurück zu dir | Said I would come back to you |
| Nun, ich muss es leider brechen | Well, I must sadly break it |
| Seine Kugel steckt in mir | His bullet is stuck in me |
| Eine Liebe, zwei Pistolen | One love, two guns |
| Eine zielt mir ins Gesicht | One points into my face |
| Er sagt, ich hätte dich gestohlen | He says I stole you |
| Dass du mich liebst | He doesn’t know |
| Weiss er nicht | That you love me |
| Roter Sand und zwei Patronen | Red sand and two rounds |
| Eine stirbt im Pulverkuss | One dies in a kiss of gunpowder |
| Die zweite soll ihr Ziel nicht schonen | The second shall not spare its target |
| Steckt jetzt tief in meiner Brust | Now is stuck deeply in my chest |
| Eine Liebe, ein Versprechen | One love, one promise |
| Ach das Blut läuft aus dem Mund | Oh the blood runs from the mouth |
| Und keiner wird mich rächen | And no one will avenge me |
| Sinnlos gehe ich zugrund | Senselessly I perish |
| Eine Liebe zwei Pistolen | One love, two guns |
| Einer konnte schneller ziehen | One could draw faster |
| Nun, ich bin es nicht gewesen | Well, it was not me |
| Jetzt gehörst du ihm | Now you belong to him |
| Roter Sand und zwei Patronen | Red sand and two rounds |
| Eine stirbt im Pulverkuss | One dies in a kiss of gunpowder |
| Die zweite sollt’ ihr Ziel nicht schonen | The second which didn’t spare its target |
| Steckt jetzt tief in meiner Brust | Now is stuck deeply in my chest |
| Roter Sand und weisse Tauben | Red sand and doves* |
| Laben sich an meinem Blut | Refresh themselves on my blood |
| Am Ende gibt es doch ein Ende | At the end there is but an end |
| Bin ich doch zu etwas gut | I am good for something finally |
| Roter Sand und zwei Patronen | Red sand and two rounds |
| Eine stirbt im Pulverkuss | One dies in a kiss of gunpowder |
| Die zweite sollt’ ihr Ziel nicht schonen | The second which didn’t spare its target |
| Steckt jetzt tief in meiner Brust | Now is stuck deeply in my chest |

* Tauben = pigeons, weisse Tauben = white pigeons = doves

it sounds like at first hes saying Wir horen, (we hear) but the rest i cant tell :[
What are they saying in the orchester version? between the main verses i cant quite make out the words
Good god, what beautiful song. Just. Perfect. And I just found out there’s an orchestal version… squeeeeeee…
The intro whistle reminds me of a spaghetti western movie. The Harmonica man (Ennio Morricone) and The good, the bad and the ugly (also Morricone) – try searching youtube for those. Awesome track!
This song is amazing i love the lyrics it is like two guys having a standoff for one girl love it a lot especialy the line now you are his
“Liese is just about a poor girl getting raped… how can you guys like that over a beautiful song like this?”
the lyrics in Liese are sick and twisted, which a lot of people like. it’s also a form of art.
Wow. This song actually made me tear-up some lol, very sad song. Very deep. I dont like Liese, I like the Orchestratal version of Roter Sand. Liese is just about a poor girl getting raped… how can you guys like that over a beautiful song like this?
Oh I know it is about what you said, It was just what I thought it was about, because I know only a very little bit of german. But then when I read the real translation, it made more sence. =)
I don’t think this song is about a soldier. I believe is about a duel, probably around the XVIII century when only single shot guns were available. The cause?, a woman. Awesome song.
When I first heard this song, I thought of a soldier laying almost dead in the sand, I could only pick out a few words sence I know very little German. Now reading the actual translation I am blown away. This song really puts you in the mind of that person laying there, what his thoughts are. Such a sad story.
I am amazed, they have gotten better and better with every alblum. I was completely blown away by this alblum, as I am by every release. The orchestral version of this song is quite amazing.
With Rammstein, I have however gotten into the habit of looking for special editions of their releases. This one was well worth the wait, I was JUST able to buy it yesterday.
Thanks for the translation…
But on my mind
“Zwei Patronen” should be translated as “2 Bullets”
@TommiK:
Schonen = verschonen = spare
Defend = verteidigen/ sich wehren = does not fit here.
Wie soll eine Kugel ein Ziel verteidigen können?
“Die zweite soll ihr Ziel nicht schonen” should be:
“the second one shall not defend its target”
I guess you need help with translations. If you do, I`ve got C2 (proficient) in English and German, work as a translator. Need help? 😉
Am Ende gibt es doch ein Ende, bin ich doch zu etwas gut
@Georgi: It would- with a question mark. But this is no question, so it means in its context:
In the end there is an end and finally I am good at something [or better: at one thing].
The explanation given by the translator (found something good) makes no sense in German.
