Ich reise viel, ich reise gern | I travel a lot, I like to traveling |
Fern und nah und nah und fern | Far and near and near and far |
Ich bin zuhause überall | I’m everywhere at home |
Meine Sprache: International | My Language: international |
Ich mache es gern jedem recht | I like to please everyone |
Ja, mein Sprachschatz ist nicht schlecht | Yeah my vocabulary is not bad |
Ein scharfes Schwert im Wortgefecht | A sharp sword in the battle of words |
Mit dem anderen Geschlecht | With the other gender |
Ich bin kein Mann für eine Nacht | I’m no man for a night |
Ich bleibe höchstens ein, zwei Stunden | I stay maximum for one, two hours |
Bevor die Sonne wieder lacht | Before the sun is laughing again |
Bin ich doch schon längst verschwunden | Am I already gone |
Und ziehe weiter meine Runden | And continue my rounds |
Ich bin Ausländer (Ausländer) | I’m a stranger (stranger) |
Mi amor, mon chéri | Mi amor, mon chéri |
Ausländer (Ausländer) | Stranger (stranger) |
Ciao, ragazza, take a chance on me | Ciao, ragazza, take a chance on me |
Ich bin Ausländer (Ausländer) | I’m a stranger (stranger) |
Mon amour, Я люблю тебя | Mon amour Я люблю тебя |
Ein Ausländer (Ausländer) | A stranger (stranger) |
Come on, baby, c’est, c’est, c’est la vie | Come on, baby, c’est, c’est, c’est la vie |
Andere Länder, andere Zungen | Other Countries, other tongues |
So hab’ ich mich schon früh gezwungen | So I do forced myself in the past |
Dem Missverständnis zum Verdruss | In the missunderstanding of frustration |
Dass man Sprachen lernen muss | That you have to learn Languages |
Und wenn die Sonne untergeht | And when the sun sets down |
Und man vor Ausländerinnen steht | And you stand in front of strangers |
Ist es von Vorteil, wenn man dann | Is it beneficial if you then |
Sich verständlich machen kann | Being able to communicate |
Ich bin kein Mann für eine Nacht | I’m no man for a night |
Ich bleibe höchstens ein, zwei Stunden | I stay maximum for one, two hours |
Bevor die Sonne wieder lacht | Before the sun is laughing again |
Bin ich doch schon längst verschwunden | Am I already gone |
Und ziehe weiter meine Runden | And continue my rounds |
Hahahahahaha | Hahahahahaha |
Ich bin Ausländer (Ausländer) | I’m a stranger (stranger) |
Mi amor, mon chéri | Mi amor, mon chéri |
Ausländer (Ausländer) | Stranger (stranger) |
Ciao, ragazza, take a chance on me | Ciao, ragazza, take a chance on me |
Ich bin Ausländer (Ausländer) | I’m a stranger (stranger) |
Mon amour, Я люблю тебя | Mon amour Я люблю тебя |
Ein Ausländer (Ausländer) | A stranger (stranger) |
Come on, baby, c’est, c’est, c’est la vie | Come on, baby, c’est, c’est, c’est la vie |
Du kommen mit, iche machen gut | You come with me, I make you good |
Du kommen mit, iche machen gut | You come with me, I make you good |
Du kommen mit, iche machen gut | You come with me, I make you good |

I read so much deep explanations of the lyrics. Being it a criticism on colonisation or maybe people who are migrating to your country for safety, but being rejected by the locals. But it’s not. At least I think. Auslander is like Pussy, Sex, Diamant: the undying love for the female fans.
“Ich bin kein Mann fur einen Nacht
Ich bleibe höchstens eins, zwei Stunden
Bevor die Sonne wieder lacht
Bin ich schön doch längst verschwunden ”
I’m staying with you only to fuck you for 2 hours max and then I go to another country to perform and have sex. It’s pretty obvious. You don’t think so? The sentences he sings in the languages of the countries he’s visiting are all love-sentences. And he closes the song with “Du kommen mit, Ich dir machen gut”. Hence the girl saying to him in broken german that he should come with her to have a good time. And it’s not for a cup of tea with whole grain cookies.
Due to the latest allegations I must add that this is in no way wrong of Till to want and to pursue. Many well known rock singers do this. Till is the only one who sings about it so openly and blunt. That’s part of the success of Rammstein. And sex with consent of both is something between the two doing it. And if some women regret what they did, it may be something to process, but it’s not the end of the world.
Auslander = foreigner
Auslanderin = foreigner (female)

Yeah, it literally translates to “outlander” and can mean a ton of things depending on context.
This can be about a university student doing his degree in a foreign country and the challenges he has to conquer
As europeans we went to these lands; colonized, took all their resources, pillaged, raped, enforced christianity on many nations around the world. Then we left, watched while they destroy one another.
It’s sad to be weak. Only the strong survive.
And now their children are taking back what’s theirs, all over the Europe. No resistance will succeed because the power is with them. You may think the strong survive in the short run, but in the long only the just survives.
As a Non-European, (auslander to you) that sounds like such a childish world view. You make it sound like you committed all those crimes and won all those victories as well (naval travel at that scale in that era is no small feat). You’re neither responsible for those crimes nor entitled to the bragging rights of all those achievements. You can’t have an ounce of responsibility for events that predate your existence by centuries. You’re not even responsible for the crimes you parents commit, only the ones you commit. Plus, I don’t know of a single culture/group/religion on the planet that wasn’t both on the receiving end and the giving end of oppression.
That’s the view of an uneducated Marxist, yes.
Honestly the grammar for the english seems like they used the literal translations idk. When I translate German for other people I try to use grammar that they would know
Auslander is foreigner, mi amor mo cheri is i love you, my love, mon amour ya lyubyu tebya is my dear i love you
That line in Russian is I love you. Thank’s for the site. I have come here for my rammstein translations for probably over 20 years if I am remembering correctly. I appreciate it.
I’ld say this is about colonisation. We, as europeans, we’re always the ‘auslanders’, who pushed our religion, way of life, and even ourselves unto the natives. Only to afterwards return to our own countries and leave the colonised people with the concequences of our doings. It made me think also about creamies in Australia for example… But maybe I just thnk too much of it.
To me, this song is about an international playboy, swinging his dick around the world. The lyrics seem to support that. Even the video does not speak to colonization, as some others have mentioned.
You could take some metaphors from the video – the hwites arrive and then leave with treasure – leaving ONE reluctant gubernator (Flake)…. but the lyrics don’t seem as metaphorical.
