In a new interview with 105.5 WDHA in Morristown, N.J., JUDAS PRIEST vocalist Rob Halford responded to a question about how different it feels to be back in the studio with bandmates today than it did in the past:

“It’s the same as it was before. It’s a blessing. There’s a sense of gratitude. There’s a sense of, ‘Oh my God. We’re still going strong more than 50 years later, partially retaining the essence of JUDAS PRIEST.'” Because JUDAS PRIEST is more than one member of the band; JUDAS PRIEST is a whole. JUDAS PRIEST have been around in the heavy metal world for over 50 years, so the fact that we are still able to resonate and show relevance, especially in new music from the upcoming JUDAS PRIEST album “Invincible Shield”, is incredibly important to us. And when we’re in each other’s presence and composing music, we rely on our instincts.

I think what’s also important is something that’s not so common these days – trust. Trust in each other. Trust in the love that you have for each other in a group, because the value that trust carries is huge. When you have trust and faith in anything, wonderful things can happen. So all these components of who JUDAS PRIEST are in 2024 – 50 years after the release of JUDAS PRIEST’s debut album “Rocka Rolla” – haven’t changed. It’s all like a linear thread, and I really like that nothing has disappeared.”
