Rammstein Rein Raus lyric with English translation

Ich bin der Reiter
Du bist das Ross
Ich steige auf
Wir reiten los
Du stoehnst ich sag dir vor
Ein Elefant im Nadeloehr

Rein raus

Ich bin der Reiter
Du bist das Ross
Ich hab den Schluessel
Du hast das Schloss
Die Tuer geht auf ich trete ein
Das Leben kann so prachtvoll sein

Rein raus

Tiefer tiefer
Sag es sag es laut
Tiefer tiefer
Ich fuehl mich wohl in deiner Haut
Und tausend Elefanten brechen aus

Der Ritt war kurz
Es tut mir leid
Ich steige ab hab keine Zeit
Muss jetzt zu den anderen Pferden
Wollen auch geritten werden

Rein raus
I am the rider
You are the horse
I climb on
We ride off
You moan, i whisper to you
An elephant in the eye of a needle

In, out

I am the rider
You are the horse
I have the key
You have the lock
The door opens, i enter
Life can be so splendorous

In, out

Deeper, deeper
Say it! Say it loud!
Deeper, deeper
I am well within your skin
And a thousand elephants break out

The ride was short
I am sorry
I climb off, i have no time
I must go now to the other horses
They also want to be ridden

In, out

This song is about rough sex. However, it is impossible to tell if he is singing about homosexual, or heterosexual intercourse.

  1. Ich hab den Schluessel, Du hast das Schloss – I have the key, You have the lock ???
Ein Elefant im Nadeloehr – An elephant in the eye of a needle ???
And you really speculate here about whether it’s about gay sex?
think first, and then write bullshit.
    it might not be otherwise…
Ich hab den Schluessel, Du hast den Schluessel – I have the key, You have the key 😀
Ein Elefant im Elefantenrüssel – An elephant in the elephant’s trunk 😀

  2. I thought “horse” translates to “Pferd”…This is what I was told when I was learning Deutsch (I’m still learning German, Ich lerne Deutsch noch. Ist das richtig?).

  3. The reference “elephant in a needle’s eye” is both a play on a biblical phrase, and also innuendo. The elephant’s trunk represents the penis, and the needle’s eye represents the vagina. Look closely at the eye of a needle, and you’ll see what I mean.

  4. I am amused by the suggestion that an occasional venture away from the strict Western idea of heterosexuality makes someone bi. Most people are a little bit bi, and Europeans just tend to be less afraid to express themselves. North American culture makes people -terrified- of stepping outside the lines, so that anyone who does is accused of being bi or gay.
Till is a private person, let him remain so.

And ‘Zwitter’ is just a silly fun song. Every Rammstein album has a silly song, this is ‘Mutter’s.

  5. i love it when me sings “An elephant in the eye of a needle”
I’m only writing this because I’m drunk, and this has nothing to doe with this song,
but crazy fact, elephants have their testicles inside there bodies… sooo… good night

  6. Great song like always 😉
Anyway, it sounds more like it’s about homosexual intercourse rather than heterosexual.

  7. i agree with fallen angel those songs are very catchy, yeah maybe they are stupid, but at the same time they are good songs, lol

  8. I agree with Chrissie i did see the sexual side of that. Either they meant it or you and i have got very perverted minds!!!

  9. Ja. It’s a bit hard for him to ride a girl, and he IS bisexual. Well, if you’re going to belive the Zwitter lyrics UND the fact he’s been kissing guys. *faints* Flake and Till make such a strange coupple.

Anyways, I can’t take Till seriously anymore. Hahah, okay, ja, I can, but I always laugh when I hear this song. Together with Pussy it must be the worst sex songs ever made.

  10. D’ya think substituting a camel for an elephant is saying he has a bigger…

Am I the only person who saw the sexual side of that?

“An elephant in the eye of a needle”

  11. @Charismatic Enigma: Ha ha!! Yeah, they love us SO much they wouldn’t mind dig our asses. I really liked your point of view. xD

Please Rammstein, come back to Spain!!

  12. Also, nowhere in the song is the gender of the speaker’s audience mentioned, even in subtle grammar. The entire thing is second-person; the listener is the audience.

I may just be pulling this out of my hat, but perhaps a secondary meaning could be of the band themselves saying that they really LOVE their fans? 😛

  13. You moan; I say to you, “An elephant in the eye of a needle.”

Man, talk about blaspheming… “It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven”, is the Bible verse I strongly believe Till is referencing with that lyric.

All in good fun, though; they’re just words. For the record, I particularly enjoyed that line myself.

    • oh well…. its still an awesome song!

but I'd prefer to still think that its a chick… 😉

  14. this song kicks ass Rammstein kicks ass they are the greatest band in all the land they rape all other bands and make them their bitch
