Although it may not be noticeable to some people, casinos have always had a close tie with music. The music played across casino establishments varies following the trending genre of each era. As years have passed and trends have evolved, a diverse range of music genres has been categorized as casino music. Rock is one of the genres that has the biggest influence in the industry.

How Rock Became Part of Casinos

Music has been a part of the casino culture since its early years. Before online casinos existed, venues had already utilized music to improve the establishment’s atmosphere. A popular online casino ohne lugas would feature games that use music to ensure the games are enjoyable. However, music had a bigger goal in its earlier implementation.

In the 1950s, casinos gained sudden immense popularity. This was the era of jazz, so casino attendees in that era would usually enjoy the entertainment inside the establishment with famous jazz musicians playing. Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and other notable names have been known to frequent casinos as jazz performers.

Due to the explosion of popularity of jazz and casinos that began at the same time, it changed the entire casino landscape. Music became an integral part of the casino culture.

Establishments stopped playing recorded music. Instead, they invite live musicians to the venue, as operators realized that live music provides a better atmosphere. To this day, live music is still a part of many casino establishments, especially in places where casinos thrive, like Las Vegas.

Some bigger and more popular venues, such as Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, started changing their whole setting. Instead of providing music as a part of guests’ casino experience, they also function as live music venues. It’s now common for famous musicians to play in casinos’ music venues, including Elvis Presley, who has done so multiple times.

The Rock Revolution

The influence of rock in the casino culture is clear; the era of rock and roll started not long after live music became the new big thing among casinos. The 1970s were the rock and roll era, and casinos quickly jumped into the trend.

Casino establishments started building bigger venues to accommodate rock groups. Not only to accommodate more artists, but also the audience coming to enjoy rock music, that were massive.

Casino players would see Queen, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin playing inside casino arenas. It became the new norm to find famous faces inside a casino, which was more appealing to the younger audience.

This era was marked by the time when casinos were focusing on providing big shows. Venues splurged for a more extravagant stage, improved sound systems, and lighting, which rival even venues made solely for entertainment.
