Translation Notes:
* The words here at the beginning are not real words but are meant to sound like Latin. “Extraspection” could be a typo for the word “Extrospection,” which means to look and observe outside oneself (the opposite of introspection, which means to look within). If you recognize any of these words in another language, please let us know and we’ll update the translation.
None of the beginning is correct. It’s not jibberish he is highlighting “dead” words. Murisuri or more accurately muri suri roughly translates to smart pickpocket. Revealing the tithing and theft of money for souls. Exmustamus is essentially an extinct word roughly translated as used to be the only one. Clearly another knock at the church and their self righteous superiority. Crucifixus is the act of staking or crucifying. Referring to how the church castigated and chastised the unbelievers and still does. The spelling of lumine here refers to how they were the only ones to light up the world with truth. The irony seems self explanatory here. Extraspection is looking outside of one self. All they do is tell others how to act ect. It is meant to be heard as an annunciation of a Latin prayer. Interestingly the melody is very close (briefly) to an old hymnal. The hymnal while instrumental is seen as a sign of how you should crucify yourself like christ to know true peace. Like most of their songs it’s satire and shock, while not actually condoning the message.
Danke, mann.
How can you get it wrong when you have the booklet?
It’s “Wir verlieren das Licht”, not “Wir vermehren das Licht”.
This is correct, I don’t know why they don’t fix it
Couldn’t Verführung vergelten be “revenge seduction” instead ?
It would fit well with the church claiming it’s the women’s fault for seducing men, even when raped.
this more like sequel for Halelujah
This definitely seems like it’s a call out song for the priests in the Catholic Church who sexually assault children and the Vatican that covers it up for them.
The choir sounds in this song are from SoundIron’s Requiem Light software package. All those fake latin words are built into it…
on album notes The Academic Choir and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Television and Radio Company of Belarus, Minsk credited for strings, choir for tracks 3 and 6. so its real choir, maybe flake use that software for demo and live version
@J Peters
Same here. Just thought about it too.
Why does no one fix the lyrics?
I think it might say “Christus Domus”, which, allowing for bad grammar would translate to Christ’s Household or House of Christ. Crucifixus means “Crucified”. If the next word is “Morituri”, it would mean “those who are about to die”. As in the famous phrase “Ave Imperator, morituri te salutant” – hail emperor, those who are about to die salute you.
“Herren” translates to Lord because of the way it’s grammatically used in the sentence. Der Herr is The Lord. But you can’t say im Namen der Herr – that is grammatically wrong. It’s like saying “in the name the Lord”. In English it’s in the name OF the Lord and in German it’s im Namen des Herren. In the song he uses that line as a conclusion to the previous line “Spread and multiply in the name of the Lord” but also as the beginning of the chorus “In the name of the Lord, Show yourself” which are the words used during exorcisms. In this case he turns an exorcism completely inside out. Typical Till – playing with contrasts and contradictions.
100% they say “christos —” I want it to say “christos damos” which means ‘Christian Bucks’ leading me to a deeper meaning, but it definitely belongs to someone better at Latin than me. I am from doublecrossrecords.com.
I’m just curious, how does “Herren” translate to Lord, wouldn’t it be “Herrgott?”
It is the genitive of Herr, which means Lord. Herrgott means more literally the Lord God
