“Hilf mir” (Help me) is based on the story of “Die gar traurige Geschichte mit dem Feuerzeug” from “Der Struwwelpeter” by Heinrich Hoffmann (1809-1894). The story is about a girl who lights a match and develops an unusual love of fire (see pyromania). When a flame accidentally touches her dress, she, along with her house, is burned to the ground. At the end she rises from the ashes to the sunshine.
does anyone know what the lyric ‘why dont i get healthy’ mean / relate to. is the girl sick and cant leave the house. or she has pale skin (effected by sun) just curious cheers guys!

Mr.Scruggs was like “Why are you trying to hide that?” So I picked it up, put it in my pocket, and the entire class acted like nothing happened…

This is my favorite Rammstein song ever. The little box reminds me of cigarettes, though I know it’s matches. Probably because I’ve been an underage smoker as a teenager. :\
I started learning German because I’d always wanted to do so; Rammstein’s music and the lyrics translations on this site have helped a lot. Having something you actually want to translate goes a long way…
This has really grown on me, It’s now a favourite. Makes me want to get into German literature.Just need ten years of lessons in the language first. Had thought about learning a new language for a long time as something to keep the brain on the ball. A growing love of this band finally decided which one to study. If you want to do something different, I can recommend this as an option. If you’ve spent time going through this site or simmilar then you’ll have a head start.
Mortina, I know…I was expecting that they’d perform atleast 2-3 songs from ‘Rosenrot’ in the current tour. I have a feeling that they would perform these songs later when the promotional stage for LIFAD is over. Well, they should!

A particularly disturbing thing is why Rammstein treat ‘Rosenrot’ as their disowned child.
This song is a materpiece and it pains my heart that it didn’t get it’s due recognition. Rammstein is the most under-rated band…They deserve so much more. Rammstein fur immer !
this is my favorite rammstein song by far, but followed by sonne. They seem to have an obsession of the bad happening rather than the good. Better than the pussy american bands… Great lyrics and rhythm.
One of the best songs on “Rosenrot”, simply fantastic music and melody. Till’s voice is unmatched!
