Rammstein Feuer Frei! lyric with English translation

 Getadelt wird wer Schmerzen kennt
Vom Feuer das die Haut verbrennt
Ich werf ein Licht
In mein Gesicht
Ein heisser Schrei
Feuer frei!

Geadelt ist wer Schmerzen kennt
Vom Feuer das in Lust verbrennt
Ein Funkenstoss
In ihren Schoss
Ein heisser Schrei
Feuer frei!

Gefaehrlich ist wer Schmerzen kennt
Vom Feuer das den Geist verbrennt
Gefaehrlich das gebrannte Kind
Mit Feuer das vom Leben trennt
Ein heisser Schrei
Feuer frei!
Whoever knows pain becomes criticized
From the fire that burns up the skin
I throw a light
in my face
A hot cry
Fire at will!

Whoever knows pain is raised
From the fire that burns in desire
A sparking thrust
into her womb
A hot cry
Fire at will!

Whoever knows pain is dangerous
From the fire that burns the soul
The burned child is dangerous
With fire that separates from the life
A hot cry
Fire at will!

This song is about releasing anger that has been held in for a long time. It was used as the introductory song to the movie xXx. The literal translation of the title is Fire freely!, while a more idiomatic translation would be Fire at will! or Open fire!.

  1. You missed a whole verse.
    Dein Glück
    ist nicht mein Glück
    ist mein Unglück

    Your happiness
    is not my happiness
    it is my misery

  2. oh and Dorsay, you probably got some sexual frustration issues. But come on it’s 2010, it’s ok to be gay, hell everyone has at least tried it, those who haven’t are just to scared to.

  3. Releasing pent up anger caused by a woman????????Anger impregnating the mind????WTF you people are nuts, IT”S ABOUT SEX AND “FIRING” YOUR “GUN” IN A WOMAN………for all you prudes it’s about fucking, and there’s some other stuff int here for filler, but come on it’s Rammstein, have you seen the video for Pussy?????

  4. Feuer Frei actually translates as ‘Fire At Will’.
    It’s a German Military term.
Yes Feuer Frei literally translates as fire free, but in this case it translation is used as an order, so the above translation of Fire At Will would be the correct term. 🙂

    Auf Wiedersehen! xD

  5. Well, I belive music is more related to emotions, than reason, that is why, most of us like this song the first time we hear it, even when we could not understand a bloody word!, am I right?…therefore, yes, if any of you guys has ever being really, and I mean REALLY PISS OFF!!, you will understand the meaning of FIRE UP!!..is just like “all hell loose”…like finding you girl in bed with an asshole who thinks you are a pussy, and just when he thinks he will play “Spartacus” with you, you find yourself breaking his jaw against the floor while smiling like a crazy, knowing YOU OWN HIS ASS!!..

Sorry, I let myself go on this one…I, too, was an angry child…jejeje…

    P.S.: Pura vida!

  6. So I’m just curious, if the song is just about built up anger and all, where does “a sparking thrust into her womb” come in? =/

    • it comes from releasing the anger caused by a woman. Alot of their songs are related to relationships and this one is not really that different. Its them taking their anger out on the specific woman that who ever wrote the song was thinking of. But it can be adapted to any female who causes pain or anguish.

  7. I think the idea being conveyed is 'Open Fire' but I think everyone gets the same image in mind whatever way it is translated.

  8. Hey guys, great job on your carrer and songs, the one that catches my interest is Feuer Frei. I noticed you used the words "fire free" when the context should be "open fire", otherwise it kinda gets confusing with the "bang bang" part. I cant wait til the next album comes out!

    Sencerely: Typhus

      • tom, it s/b “you’re uber gay”…if you plan on insulting someone at least make sure you don’t sound like an idiot.
this is a great song, and yes, pain/anger/frustration…these things are constant…mostly from having to put up with moronic individuals who fancy they know it all.

    • yeah pain is the only constant thing when was fifteen feuer frei was the song that i listened to most because of the lyrics and what it means (i was an angry child)
