Nun liebe Kinder gebt fein Acht | Now, dear children, pay attention |
ich bin die Stimme aus dem Kissen | I am the voice from the pillow |
ich hab euch etwas mitgebracht | I brought something to you |
hab es aus meiner Brust gerissen | Have cut it from my breast |
mit diesem Herz hab ich die Macht | With this heart i have the power |
die Augenlider zu erpressen | To blame youre eyes |
ich singe bis der Tag erwacht | I sing till the day wakes up |
ein heller Schein am Firmament | A bright shine at the heavens sky |
Mein Herz brennt | My heart burns |
Sie kommen zu euch in der Nacht | They come to you at night |
Dämonen Geister schwarze Feen | Deamons, ghosts and black elves |
sie kriechen aus dem Kellerschacht | They crawl up from the cellar rows |
und werden unter euer Bettzeug sehen | and will take a lok under your bed |
Nun liebe Kinder gebt fein Acht | Little children listen on |
ich bin die Stimme aus dem Kissen | I am the voice from the pillow |
ich hab euch etwas mitgebracht | I braught something to you |
ein heller Schein am Firmament | A bright shine at the heavens sky |
Mein Herz brennt | My heart burns |
Sie kommen zu euch in der Nacht | They come to you at night |
und stehlen eure kleinen heissen Tränen | And steal your little hot tears |
sie warten bis der Mond erwacht | They wait till the moon awakes |
und drücken sie in meine kalten Venen | And push them in my cold venes |
Nun liebe Kinder gebt fein Acht | Little children listen on |
ich bin die Stimme aus dem Kissen | I am the voice from the pillow |
ich singe bis der Tag erwacht | I sing till the day awakes |
ein heller Schein am Firmament | A bright shine at the heavens sky |
Mein Herz brennt | My heart burns |
This song is about childhood nightmares. It makes reference to an old German childrens TV show named Der Sandmann. It was used as the introductory and the final song to the movie Lilja 4-ever.
The argument about rolling the “r”s is rather amusing, particularly because in most dialects of German you aren’t even supposed to roll your “r”s…
The theme is close to Metallica’s Enter Sandman, just this song is about 50 times more freakin’ awesome!!
I guess it would make sense to just pronounce it how Till pronounces it. I try really hard to get it right but I’m always falling down on my r’s!
Go Rammstein!!
It reminds meh of somone insane in the membrain but with a great way with dealing like freakin little children out mi personal favorite thing to do
Fair enough Mot, people who can’t roll their r’s, all good.
Those who don’t try, well try.
See, I am American, but Rammstein is my all time favorite band. I love everything they do, but I do not think I should be looked down upon because I can not roll my “r.” Some people are just not able. I do not get offended when people of other countries come and pronounce English wrong, hell, half the time I’m sure I’m not even pronouncing it correctly, lol.
American by birth, but what of your roots?
I also hate when people say “Ram-stine” Roll your “r”
Hey Emil I’m not german but i agree! I get pissed off when people say ram-stine, when its “Rumm shtine” (with a trilled “r” as in maori). And I heard of Der Sandmann on Herzeleid.com once. I used to go to that site for translations but then i found this site which is miles better.
Rammstein fur immer!
I always this song was kind of metaphoric. The “children” that are sleeping , are the fans of Rammstein. The demons and evil things being general hardships that everyone goes through. “Even though life is hard, music will help you through it” kind of thing. Doesnt music seem alot better when you can relate to it ?
Wann wird mein Land besuchen? Sie warten in Bulgarien.
“This song is about childhood nightmares. It makes reference to an old German childrens TV show named Der Sandmann. ERGH! im not gonna do a whole LITERATURE ANALISSIS . 1st you learn to understand it!oh and for the english people it AIN’T ramm – stine(pronounciation i mean) it’s
SHTine cuz its german. DOUNT BE SHTIOUPID!
