BLAZE BAYLEY in a recent interview answered the question of why he was hired in IRON MAIDEN:
“My previous band is still in business. I got an offer to try out for IM and I have no idea why I was offered a job. I am completely different from Bruce – in all respects, in appearance, in pitch, in voice, and so on. But I think they wanted a change and offered me a job. So I left WOLFSBANE and got the best job in the world for a heavy metal vocalist. It was an incredible and fantastic time. I don’t know why they chose me, but they did. I was already a MAIDEN fan and what I learned there will stay with me forever. And the confidence that I gained as the author of the material was simply unreal”
