Your heart is a diamond
Every soul wants to steal it
From your fort, your fort of skin
You let nobody in
Your heart is a diamond
A bleeding treasure
Crushed together by
Grief and violence
Tons of pain, big pressure
Your heart is a diamond
So hard and cold
So uncut and so silent
In a breathing vault
That’s my heart
Let me help it feel
That’s my heart
What they all want to steal
Your Heart is a diamond
every man wants to steal it
Deep inside your fort of skin
You keep yourself concealed
Good hearts are so hard to find
I will wait and stay
A diamond ring will take its place
Around my soul one day
That’s my heart
Let me help it feel
That’s my heart
What they all want to steal
That’s my heart
Let me work that mine
That’s my heart
Let me help make it shine
I lick your heart, I taste the pain
I kiss your skin, it feels the same
Your bitter lips
There is no light
At the end of the tunnel
Between your hips
That’s my heart
Let me help it feel
Let me in to guard
What they all want to steal
That’s my heart
Let me work that mine
That’s my heart
Help me
Help make it shine
Till Lindemann about the song meaning:
This is the first love song with the piano and stuff like that and like a frozen voice which is comparison to ice cold woman, who won’t let love in her heart. It’s pretty simple. She’s an ice-cold bitch and she won’t let anybody in and this guy is sitting in front and begging for love…blah blah blah. It’s very like you know… like and old fashioned love song.
Q: Okay and was there any inspiration behind that?
Till: No…(laughs)

I think sometimes when Till makes light of his own words/work he’s just playing with us. This song is beautiful and I just don’t feel like it’s “uninspired”. But maybe I’m overthinking it. Either way, Till is truly an amazing poet/artist and a man of great depth.
