Ehm going back to the question.....
Music never used to play an important role in my life, until I started listening to it properly and not just listening to whatever was being played most often on the radio. Rammstein were the first band I listening to properly and they're the main reason I started listening to the artists I now love (Marilyn Manson, Oomph!, Omega Lithium, Nirvana etc), with the other reason being guitar hero. Since then, music, especially R+, has helped me deal with life by providing an escape.
"Hilf mir" is the song that started playing during a suicide attempt, and reminded me that I had a concert to look forward to, and its because of Rammstein I met my boyfriend who's talked me out of killing or cutting myself on numerous occasions.
So I'd definitely say they've influenced and literally saved my life.

Hehe I would have a few words for Art in Heaven, but I restrain myself. Shot he's in time out anyway, or should I say purgatory? LOL Seriously, thanks for watching out for everyone guys.

To the topic.

Music has always been in my life; However, never as meaningful as it is today as I am older (going on 50). The thing with Rammstein is that their music is so powerful and rhythmic. I listen to them every day, and here is why. I get up at 4:10 AM every morning and go into my garage in which I got my workout room set up. For an hour I power through lifting weights to the rhythm of their music. It motivates me and it pushes me. For example I go so far as to use the faster rhythms to do hammer curls to the beat. Talk about burning muscles. I also sing along during my 30 second breaks, if I have any breath left that is LOL. So really, they are an instrumental part of my workout routine.

When I drive to work I sing along in the car. I puts me in a great mood every time, ready to work once I am there. On my way back home after a 12 hour day I turn them on again, and it makes me forget about the work day I just put behind me. In a way its therapy for me, and it works.

So yes I am a nut, though not just yet a Rammstein fanatic. Since I put up my own website with Rammstein translations I got deeper into the texts and what they actually mean, or could mean. So it makes me think and I transpose the relevancy of the text into my own life. Take "Nebel" for example. People my age (especially since I lost my mother, grandmother and one of my two sisters in less than one year) start thinking about certain things, such as death, as it creeps closer to us. Call me weird, but others may see it in a similar way.

Lastly, I am native German, and as such listening to Rammstein, Silbermond, Christina Stürmer, Unheilig, and Eisbrecher no name a few really has brought back my German language skills. I never thought it possible, but even after living my first 30 years in Germany, once you're gone you start forgetting certain words if you do not speak it daily. I am sure everyone here has the same problem.

So in closing I can say, yes, to me they are an influential force in many ways.
