It wasn't the expectations that made me dislike this DVD, nor the CG effects. It's the fact that I can't enjoy it when the images constantly shift. I like music and literature because I can "empathize" with the feelings and the moods. But when I don't get a chance of really observing the things, it just doesn't work for me. That's why I do like Mutter in this film, because it has many bits and images that last more than 2 seconds to watch. The same for Mann gegen Mann. But with the rest, as far as I have seen it, I didn't enjoy it, I felt as if I was quickly scrolling through some Rammstein footage, not taking the time to have a proper look. As the music doesn't constantly shift, I reckoned I could enjoy it and therefore I just bought the CD.
And to make it even worse: you don't only get the see things very swiftly, it's also really really dark to see anything at all. I said it often: this tour they made their stage so dark that for me mostly only the naked eye can really fully observe what happens in the shadows. Many youtube vids were however very good, but Akerlund embraced the darkness and even increased it frequently.
