^I personally am not a fan of vynil. It takes a lot of place, and them I'm not even speaking about how much space its device needs. Besides, after too many listens, the whole thing starts to make cracking noises... And there's no nostalgy to it for me, being born in the late 80s (tapes and CD were the thing, especially as they were much cheaper for this lower middle class boy).
I download too, but just like Art in Heaven it often leads to actually buying the record, so... I probably buy even more since downloading's possible. If I doubted in the past to buy an album, I usually didn't do it. Now I check it out online and than mostly buy it. If only there were more people like that, I guess.
But @ Art in Heaven I'm not sure it's good that downloading forces bands to perform more live. It's great for the big bands that've already proven themselves and basically gained their fame in the old system were record sales meant were a bigger deal. New bands are very much screwed by them as they have to tour while not many venues are willing to book them.
