FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

Agree, but as I said: I'll probably skip most of that thread. I really don't care, as long as the result is good.

I can agree with most of what you said. My main point was that they filmed both concerts, but due to the fact that the band performed some songs very differently, that might have caused some problems in the editing room.

The best example is "Keine Lust" were Till took of his hairnet in Montreal and performed the song very differently from the usual choeography. While in New York he kept the hairnet and performed the song as usual. Once the DVD is out, I guess we can maybe see from which concert they used the most footage, judging by that song.

^So just becauser there were more crew in one place, doesn't automatically mean the footage were better or more were used. Also I think it's false advertising to call a DVD "Live in MSG" if the majority is from another place, and somehow I don't think R+ would do that. But I don't know, I'm not privy to their inner thought - unfortunately

So write "I guess" instead of "we know" and you'll get no objections from me. But I agree with Waidman, they will use some of the Montreal-footage to adjust "weak" moments from MSG

The reason why I think there is "a lot" of footage from Montreal in this upcoming DVD, is because while comparing the footage of the three videos released to pictures of the concert in Montreal and New York, it appears that many shoots are actually from Montreal. I know it's a little early to say, but look here:

    Camera-crew near stage

It seems that there was a lot more camera-crew near the stage at Montreal in comparrison to New York.

    Certain angles

Certain angles appear to come from either a crane or a cameraman standing on the stage itself. There were no cranes in New York, and rarely could you see camerman actually on the stage.

Angles as seen in the concertfilm:

    The Crowd

In the three videos released, we see that the crowd appears to wear green wristbands. I am not sure if I am 100% correct, but it appears that only fans in Montreal had these wristbands. According to some pictures, it seems the New York'er crowd didn't have such bands.

Crowd as seen in the previews:

I myself wasn't at any of these gigs, so all my information comes from pictures and videos I have found on the internet. If someone on this forum has been to at least one of these concerts, we could know a little more.

^uhu, I looked it up and indeed, it see nowhere mentioned that it would be "a lot". Don't know where that info would come from.

^That's what I mean, there is difference between "a lot" and "some", and since we don't know yet how much, I think it's a great leap to state we know a lot will be used! Let's wait till we see and then start the inevitable guessing on which is from where. Though personally I'll be skipping those threads

@Chrisss Nofff: They don't have to edit anything out if they just use the entire boat part from the Madison Square Garden gig... Guess I just solved the most simple editing question ever or...?

@The Rose: when there was first mention of the DVD it was said they'd use footage from the 2 concerts. At first it made people think we would get a bunch of songs from the one concert and a bunch from the other one, but these last months it seems it's going to be the MSG one "adjusted" with some footage from the Montreal concert.

So the other day I was watching some amateur footage from the 2010 Montreal concert, which was filmed and I guess a lot of material is being used for the "Live from Madison Square Garden" concertfilm. I noticed that during "Haifisch", while being in the boat Flake puts on a Canadian flag and waves it around, before arriving at the stage.

Haha! I wonder how they are going to edit themselves around that.

It makes me wonder there were so many more cameras in Montreal compared to New York. In an interview Till mentioned that preparing the concert at Madison Square Garden was a nightmare due to concerns about safety regarding the pyrotechnis. As a result the fireworks that shoot above the audience during "Du Hast" weren't used, and the distance between stage and the barricades was huge. I think that they might have filmed less in New York due to the fact that they were only allowed to have a restricted amount of people around the stage, due to concerns regarding safety.

Although even that theory dosen't explain why there weren't at least camera cranes around in New York.

However, I think it is a pity that the documentary/performance gets a theatrical release in Germany, but none in the USA. Even though Germany is a much safer bet, I think they could still at least schedule a special screening somewhere in New York (given that it was where they made their return to the USA).
I wish your words would get to the ears of their management :\

^The previews are on YouTube and their page. As for interviews; I doubt they'll do any for this release, or only very few. Fansites are doing it for them, just see how much time we spend on it here ;-)
I think the music-press will give the release all their attention closer to actual release-date.
