He loves his mother and from the side he gives the fish to her it sheds its skin before empty testicles the old skin falls on the floor He loves his sister and from behind the fish eats to the mouth the gills still bloody from sucking on the big red eyes Spawning time it is spawning time He loves his dog oh god from above the fish now kisses with his tongue he spits dead milk in your face you don't dare to touch him Spawning time fishmilk everywhere it is spawning time The mother has been taken by the sea Spawning time the sisters don't have time Spawning time the dog waves from the shore Spawning time the fish needs his loneliness Spawning time |
“Laichzeit” has very accented synthesized sounds. It makes references to a fishes spawning-time, apparent in the title and many of the lyrics. Laichzeit makes many references to incest and bestiality throughout the song.
One lyric for example: Er liebt die Schwester und von hinten der Fisch frißt sich zum Mund, die Kiemen blutig noch vom saugen an den roten großen Augen / He loves his sister and from behind the fish devours itself to its mouth, the gills still bloody from sucking on the big red eyes, can be interpreted very darkly.
Another example: Er liebt den Hund. Oh Gott von oben, der Fisch jetzt mit der Zunge küsst, Speit tote Milch dir ins Gesicht. Ihn anzufassen wagst du nicht / He loves the dog, oh god from above, the fish now kisses with his tongue. It spits dead milk in your face, you don’t dare to touch him, is very obviously referring to sex with a dog.
In their performance in Live aus Berlin they had a large glitter cannon that shot metallic confetti and smoke 50 feet into the crowd and a very long guitar solo in which Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe slowly back up towards each other while playing slower and slower.
In their 1997 performance at Bizarre Festival in Cologne, Germany, Till had a bow fitted with sparklers that shot out as soon as the guitarists began playing, nearly the exact same bow used live during Du riechst so gut.
If you guys hate this one, why don’t you look up Spiel Mit Mir . it’s much worse. And Puppa is extremely sad and disturbing. otherwise you ;d be listening to someone other than Rammstein.
Who hated this anyway lol. Rammstein is known for their weird and disturbing song, and Puppe is probably the best song they ever made
Oh God why did I look at this… Who cares, it’s Rammstein, a song by them is good no matter what T_T
“Fischmilch” means “milt” (the seminal fluid of fish) and not fishmilk (which isn’t a real word in english). In my opinion “milch” should be translated to milt as well, in thís context.
I feel sick…. but the joke’s on me, I should have known this was going to be disturbing -_-
its laichzeit, not leichzeit
In my opinion the fish refers to his penis, being fishmilk the cum.
Spawning time can refer to either when it gets erect or when it eyaculates (most likely the latter)
Cheers
Rammstein für immah!!!
These lyrics are more political than disgusting…
Ya think? Their pretty dark. Which is why they’re loved.
Oh god, this song is now painful to listen to! XD
Especially the dog part…
Funny how there are more translation notes then lyrics. -_-
Well said. After reading the translated lyrics (I do not speak German, unfortunately) I realized I really didn’t WANT to like this song… but after hearing it, I became addicted to it. Kept floating around in my head all day long.
As disgusting as that is, I admire Till for writing such controversial lyrics. He has always done this. Not many would sing or write about something such as bestiality and incest. He has once said, in more words or less, that he often tries to capture and ponder the reasons why people commit such repulsive acts. This is his way of attempting that. I think it puts him, and many others, on a better understanding of the corrupt human mind.
Human mind istn corrupt….humans decisions are and their doings.
Six one, half dozen the other….
whoa that’s sick
