FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

Wait, Links 2 3 4 makes people feel uncomfortable? Also, you can't even find the Pussy music video on YouTube because it would against the TOS...

I don't remember exactly how I got into Rammstein but I know the first song I liked was "Du Hast". I had the single and the video on my iPod almost as soon as it came out of the box in 2007. I think what drew me to it was the hard heavyness of it. I didn't get really into them until the end of last year. Up until now, I've mostly been into the Beatles, who are now tied for my favorite band with R+.

@Edelweiss My family is from the Buffalo area and we are VERY Polish! LOL We even like to celebrate Dingus Day.

I've heard of them before, but never really put some time into listening or understanding their lyrics until a few years ago. I believe it was Te Quiero Puta that was the final spark that would ignite my interest. I heard it by complete accident and didn't actually know who the artist was. I tried my best to re-write the lyrics into Google, and found out that it was a Rammstein song. At the same time, a friend of mine had been heavily interested in Rammstein. He showed me a bunch of tracks, and gradually I actually became a bigger fan than him.

I've known Rammstein since 2006, but never really bothered listening to them, since they weren't really my kind of music (I was in my metal elitist days, where I shunned everything that was mainstream, you know). Well, until some time ago, they played a live version Ich Will on TV, that's where I got interested.I've only listened to some songs of them like Sonne, Mutter, Rosenrot etc. I really got into them in 2008, when I saw the Amerika video. I found it funny, and thought I'll analyse this band deeper. And the rest is history.

@You: Well, music doesn't necessarily need to be really complex to be good, actually the simple songs are catchier than the complicated ones. Even Rammstein are really simple some time. And Hip Hop isn't that bad, you just need to listen to the right artists.

I got into them when Du Hast came out in the states. I always loved Germany but never knew why. Later on when I moved to Buffalo I found out I was actually half German and not Polish with a German name, which is what I had thought growing up. Buffalonians were quick to tell me they could tell I was German cuz of my last name, my facial features and little things like I celebrate ST Nick's day. So I dug around a bit and found my Grandfather was Sudetendeutsch. My Grandmothers family came from what is now the Czech Republic but used to be Austria.
I always missed R+ when they came in concert but never stopped loving them. Now that I have seen them live I want to see them again.

i dont know how but i guess i was the only one who was never ever into that easier/simpler kind of music. even the very old console games i played had was better music than mainstream stuffs (and mainstream wasnt as bad as now either[they still played stuff like Sweet Dreams and What is love in radio])
and those trends like tecktonic were so horrible that i would never ever have considered to like them

i first heard Rammstein when my brother's friend gave a cd to him with some singles and others on it from them with some text files with nottoogood hungarian translations included. (it had "Hitler" instead of Sonne though. ehh). back then i didnt even have internet so i only kept listening to those stuffs that were on it. then later when i had it and saw a live performance of them on some kind of music channel i started getting more into them :O
so well yeap. thats how i got into them. i guess i heard Feuer Frei in xXx before that or something but that didnt influence me much
before this i never listened specifically to one band. and i guess The Offspring was the only one i knew more songs from. had some Nirvana songs too

I first got to know them when I was 14 and got the album Mutter from my eldest brother. I was still in my hip hop days, so I didn't really care for this music. But as it was new, and my brother told me it was really ace, I gave it a chance. Thank god for that! I was sold immediately and listened constantly to the record for like a year. It made me appreciate other rock as well and turned me away from hip hop into rock (like Nirvana, GNR, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc.). My interest in the band only increased from than on, and today I can happily tell that they're my nr. 1 band.

I have listened to Rammstein about ten years, thanks to my brother! He listened to feuer frei one day and that's it! I fell in love. He helped me to find the worlds most wonderful and lovable band and here i am now! I listen to their music every day and often find myself singing along. Well, that's over the subject but anyway ...And i can tell that it really was the happiest day of my life when i saw them live last month. That was absolutely amazing.
