FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

  • And most of all, and I hate the fact that there has been YEARS since I managed to fully enjoy a ramm release. Everything they have released after the mutter era has been underwhealming to me. The only reason I haven't totally checkout already is because their live shows still kick ass. But I am tired of beign dissapointed by their releases. I am tired of being the asshole constantly bitching.I am tired of waiting months and years for their stuff only to get pissed off. The problem is probably me and not them, but that doesn't make me feel any better.

After all, nothing is better than eternal happiness, and a ham sandwich is certainly better than nothing. Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness."

    • ^Always knew Mutter was your favorite album/period, but didn't know that Reise, Reise and Rosenrot underwhelmed you... How come?

      • ^Reise Reise isn't bad and I fully support the bands decision to do something creatively different and more mature, but ultimately the album doesn't really work for me once Keine Lust kicks in. Rosenrot was a huge shock when I first listened to it, but ironically, it ended up growing on me much more than Reise Reise. I actually think it has pretty good ballads and is a little bit underrated.

        • ^Rosenrot was a difficult and heavy album, hard to grasp during a first listen. I too just liked the beginning and only after a while I began to understand and fully appreciate the album. I'm very glad it was made and it's ashame many songs will never make it to a live performance.

This new DVD might be the first Rammstein DVD I wouldn't buy, though the CD interests me. I would like to have the chance to buy just the CD.

Yes, we are. This means the rapture is finally near.

Though the differences stay big. I will always love Lifad and I'm sure the next album will be superb too. It's just this photosensitive epilepsy evoking, constant shifting film that keeps us from praising this DVD. And again, for me, it all looks way too dark, which is just a lighting issue that ever bothered me about this tour (only with the naked eye this didn't give much problems).

                    • ^I actually think the fundamental problem was the fast editing. I could forgive all the experimental bullshit they through at us if at least we had time to appreciate the imagery - which I think that even though it is dark, it is still great cinematography.

                      • I sadly didn't get to see R+ in Paris at the pictures, but the comments about the cut to cut to cut to cut visuals and the apparent added CGI kind of makes me feel this is more of a pop video and something I would find quite irritating to watch. I hope I'm wrong.
Going back to Snake's comments regarding the bands output, I have to agree in the sense that as I've said before I'm a big Mike Oldfield fan but I hate most of the albums he's released over recent years (about ten years actually), and I've been praying for years for something I would love and his latest album is just that. It's beautiful and more than makes up for the shit he put out over the last ten years. Like Waidmann I love LIFAD but I understand those who don't because if it just doesn't sound right it just doesn't sound right! What I'm saying snake is that I had given up hope that Mike would release something so beautiful as the new album but he did, so at least for now let's hope that the new R+ offering will blow us all away

The official youtube channel has 3 songs from R+ paris (Wholt ihr, Mutter, Links 234). Mutter is a slowpace song, so the editing happens to be less jarring on that, and Links 234 wasn't on the theatrical cut. Nonetheless, Wholt Ihr and Links 234 are very representative of the type of fast cutting used across the wholw film that I am bitching about (even though there are no CGI). If you look them up, you will understand what I am talking about.

I have honestly reached a point where my attitude towards the next album is "meh". But who knows, maybe the band has finally snaped out of their mid life crisis and are preparing something worthy of praise.

Oh, yes there is (not that I have a problem with it actually), if you have a close look (Till's head fading/widening/slow motioning in WIDBIFS or the butterfly flying from Till's mouth in Links). But than again, when is there ever given time to have a close look? Maybe indeed during Mutter, which I overall enjoyed, I must say. But it also means we'll probably only have 3-4 songs that are IMO somewhat reasonable in terms of pace - with which I'm alas not even saying it never bothered me in Mutter. This not a mistake on the band's account, which gives me all the hope for the future. I hope for them the big audience likes this.

                            • ^I didn't count the effect in WIDBIFS as being CGI, just as a weird camera effect (which ironically, I kinda thought it was neat). The butterfly in Links I didn't even noticed, but it doesn't sound as stupid as a snake tongue during Feuer Frei.

As for wether or not the pace was a mistake of the band, I think we'll need to wait for RP to be released and check if the editor for RP was the same on as RiA. If it is the same one (and I suspect it is, because there is reseamblance of editing between the two) than the band hired a lousy editor. But if the editor isn't the same person, than I am going to get convinced that the band is giving bad notes and demands, and have no fucking idea what they are doing.

It happens at 3:03 in Links.

Well, I liked RiA, but indeed sometimes the switching between NY and Montreal was too obvious. Especially during Keine Lust where Till's hair constantly changes from slicked back to hanging in front of his face. Many people complain about those things in Völkerball as well, but it was handled way better though. Despite that, RiA still has my blessing.
