FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

^ Rammstein admits it as well. I've seen interviews where they make fun of getting confused because Flake have started the wrong tape without noticing it and the rest of the band starting on different songs.

^That is more like letting info slip than openly admitting it. And it was only regarding Flake's part, not Till's.

After all, nothing is better than eternal happiness, and a ham sandwich is certainly better than nothing. Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness."

I think they are way too experienced to "let info slip", as for Till's part, I don't have any knowledge about how much is playback and how much are rumours about playback? But it's obvious that there is background vocals and strings etc. that is on tape. I don't believe that is supposed to be a secret.

Îf it is a secret, it is a very poorly kept secret. And even though during 2013 Till toned down the playback a whole lot, in the previous years the concerts where littered with voice samples in musics like ITDW, Waidmanns heil, Wiener Blut, Rammlied, etc. IT got to the point that MgM and Buck Dich where enterely singed in playback.

Flake's parts mainly pre-recorded is understandable, most of the keyboard-players do that. The thing about Muse that bothersme is the guitar being pre-recorded. That's just over the top. Keyboard-parts are to many to do them all live, voices need to be spared (although I'm not to happy with the pre-recorded Till-voices as well).

Could you pm me or direct me to a link of when Till playbacked entire songs? Never thought he'd do that...

^You can find it out on youtube. Just search for any Buch Dick and Mann Gegenn Mann played in 2011 and 2012. During 2013, MgM was not played, and Buck dich sounds like it is not playback anymore during that year.

^In the meanwhile I looked through some concerts. I watched fragments of the Montreal gig ('11), the Saint-Petersburg one ('12), the Berlin O2- concert ('12) and the Bercy gig ('12). Mann gegen Mann is sung quite different when you compare St. Petersburg (very sighing, whispering voice at the beginning) with the Bercy version (more clear voice, though rougher that the album version + longer pause with "von hin-ten zieht"). Can't see why you would think these would be pre-recorded if they sound differently but both unlike the album? The "Mann gegen Mann" they shout together and the "schwuler"-yell of Till are recorded, I guess, but why would the entire rest be? I just can't see it.

With Bück Dich it's harder to differentiate as the song contains mainly speaking, less singing. What I hear is though definetly not the album version but a live sung version (recognizable by the whispery voice Till introduced on the Mutter-album). Again: why would you think this is playbacked before 2013?
You're right that it wasn't playbacked in 2013 as I saw them on Werchter (front row!) and when Till almost tripped over Flake he catched breath in his talking .

^The buck dich from 2011/2012 is not from the album, sure. As for why would think it is playback, you said it yourself: the songs are really hard to diferenciate.

You think he playbacks it because it's hard to hear if it's playbacked? Seems like a lot of effort for nothing at all. Can't see why they'd do it then.

^I'm far from being the only one that claims that it was playback. This issue was very discussed on ther herzeleid forums. And I didn't even need to participate in the debate over there.

I've been searching (fyi the Rosenrot forum also discusses it) and I fear you might've stumbled on some inconvenient Rammstein-matter I didn't want to know, but luckily I find lots of material to counter it a bit. It apears indeed that now and then Till was lip-synching on that small B-stage. A mistake was made for example when Till had the mic under his arm and the singing already started. Other nights however we can hear a very tired voice from a concert where they had to do 2 shows in 2 days... I also found the wire being cut and suddenly his singing stops (and Till getting furious)... Or other parts where sudden movements of Till clearly influence the singing...
So.. to sum up, it seems that on the little B-stage during the MIG tour, he - now and than - lip synched, probably because there were frequent difficulties? But as this sure happened, the opposite occured too, namely that he sang for real now and than on that stage. Glad it stopped on the main stage and so during festival season (except of course for the yelling parts like in Wiener Blut).

^ITDW still had some lip playback during 2013, during the main parts of the song. And Feuer Frei always had the "Bang bang" pre-recorded. This little bip about Feuer Frei I am sure, because I already caught Till looking back at Flake with the mic away from his face, and yo ucould still ear it. Furthermore, you can watch on YP the Feur Frei performance from Jimmy Kimmel. In that particualr event there was no voice sample for the bang bang, and you can clearly see it sounds totally different from regular shows. It even looks as if Till was struggling to scream it.

^Well-spotted at the Jimmy Kimmel attendance!
Yeah, noticed the ITDW indeed, just like the parts from Waidmanns Heil, Stein um Stein and more than probably Rammlied. This makes me presume the chorus of Sehnsucht is a voice-over as well. I never got though why they did the same with he chorus of Lifad. I guess only the first time (in Bilbao 2009) was live, but don't know why. I guess he wasn't happy with the result, although I thought it was ok.

^The first time was on Lisbon, Portugal. One of the few LIFAD concerts that had almost no playback.

^My mistake! Which means it was sung live a few times.
And indeed that Lisbon gig... He even seems to sing the ITDW-chorus live (the poor youtube quality doesn't confirm it 100% for me, but the last chorus definetly sounds live).

EDIT: this seems to be my 500th post! Feel free to send flowers !!!
