Paul Landers is the second oldest in the band, born on December 9, 1964 to a russian mother. He can speak Russian fluently, but cannot read or write it. The H in his name stands for Henry. His real name is Heiko Hiersche, which he hated so he changed it to Paul to honour his biological father. Due to fights with his stepfather, Landers left home at 16
Before joining, Paul was part of the band Feeling B, along with Christian "Flake" Lorenz. He was the 5th member (Flake being the 6th) to join Rammstein after Olli Riedel, Till Lindemann, Richard Kruspe and Christoph "Doom" Schneider entered and won the Berlin Senate Metro beat contest in 1994.
At the age of 20, Landers married Nikki Landers, and took her surname, although they are now divorced. He has 2 known children, a son called Emil and a daughter.
Landers is falsely rumoured to have been a gymnast as a child. He has stated that he likes Pantera, Metallica and The Sex Pistols
