FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

  • Christoph "DOOM" Schneider

    Name: Christoph Doom Schneider
Date of birth: 11th May 1966
    Place of birth: Berlin, Germany
    Height: 1,87 m
    Weight: 84 kg
    Color of eyes: Blue
    Natural hair color: Brown
    Distinguishing marks: none
    Place in group: Drums
Usual place on scene: On the top, in the middle
Previous group: Die Firma and Feeling B (second beater)

Christoph Schneider was born on May 11th, 1966. His father was a musician and wanted him to learn to play an instrument. As a child, he went to a school connected to a pioneering Socialist orchestra and learned to play the trumpet.

His brother gave him a drum when he was 14, and Schneider became hooked. After Schneider got out of college, he bought himself his first drumset after he saved enough money from his job as a telecommunication assistant. Schneider joined the military at age 18.

Schneider wanted to attend University to study music. He quit his telecommunications job and applied to the University twice, but was never admitted.

Schneider, Till Lindemann, Richard Kruspe, and Oliver Riedel entered and won the Berlin Senate Metro beat contest that allowed them to professionally record a four track demo. Schneider played in the band Feeling B with Paul Landers and Flake (Christian Florenz). Landers and Flake joined Lindemann, Kruspe, Riedel, and Schneider. Thus, Rammstein was birthed.

Schneider likes to be called Schneider or "Doom." The nickname "Doom" comes from the video game he likes to play by the same name. Schneider stated in an interview he was influenced by the drummer of AC/DC, Phil Rudd. His favourite rock bands are Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead and AC/DC.

He has one brother, Stephan, older than him and five sisters, including one, Constance who did design their stage costumes at one time. Schneider is the second oldest.

In an interview with the Gauntlet:

The Gauntlet: When will we see you on a drum riser.

Schneider: There have been a lot of things already done like Tommy Lee and Joey Jordison. Furthermore, I'd have to have a drum solo. I would come up with something though if the guys want to do that.

The Gauntlet: You have the same facial expression in the video for Mann Gegen Mann that you have in Pussy, which video shoot did you enjoy more?

Schneider: Can't i enjoy both? Both gave me different feelings. Neither shoot was erotic for me at all. It is strange for me to do something like that. Porn was just work. People doing it must be a little crazy. It was interesting to be around and having an experience like that but it is just a job. The situation on Mann Gegan Mann was more artsy. With Pussy it was more over the top.

The Gauntlet: Which video are you more proud of.

Schneider: With Pussy, I am more proud. We had this stupid song and we didn't even want to put it on the record. It doesn't represent the typical Rammstein sound and is so cheesy. I am glad we found a good solution with it and it shows something. For me it shows what access people have these days. You can go on the internet click a button and you are now 18 and see horrible things. We put the video on one of those sites. I think it puts a lot of attention on this issue. When you see our video, it is just funny. I am glad we did it. There aren't many artists that can afford to do something like this.

The Gauntlet: Having it as the first single was great. It allowed me to enjoy the song for a month until the album came out. Once I listened to the album, and hearing the song "Wiener Blut" play before "Pussy", it makes the song no longer fun. I applaud the band in this as so much music released today is so emotionless.

Schneider: [laughs] I love that don't you?

The Gauntlet: It is great for music to evoke an emotional response. "Wiener Blut" is just so dark. Even hearing it without knowing what is being said makes me think Till should be in prison for accessory to rape.

Schneider: [laughs] That is cool! Thank you.

Adios is one of my favourite songs on Mutter simply because of the drum work

I agree, all of them have this sort of "down to earth" personality and not this "I'm the best fucking rockstar in the world" attitude ;D Hehe, he sure is

^When they go out in public nowadays, they dress like shit, just like your typical rock star. They attend parties full of skanks, and I doubt that they stay away from them. They don't give a rat ass about the fans. And their management are very trigger happy to sue site fans (and I doubt Rammstein couldn't have put a stop to that).

Well, I personally don't give a shit about what they're wearing :S You're probably right about the parties and the skanks - but I believe that almost all "rockstars" do stuff like that :S But that they don't give a shit about the fans? Well, that's maybe what you feel, but I don't :S Yeah okay, it actually pissed me off when their management was about to sue this fansite because it was named "Rammstein Europe" - totally ridiculous when so many other fansites are allowed to have "Rammstein" included in their names :S But I don't blame Rammstein for that incident, I blame their management - they're seriously a pain in the ass sometimes :S
