But green apples taste better ;-)

Anyway I've just finished my last ale so now I really am turning in. I wish I had a remote to turn off the downstairs music off, I hate sleeping with earplugs ;-)

Sleep well when you get there and have a super great 2014

    Der Apfel ist rot.

EDIT: I'm not sure about the Livemocha site. It's "free" but pretty limited. I'll keep trying though. Something is better than nothing, and at least it'll give me some practice with vocabulary.

And I can already count to ten...

Very true! I got real confused the last time when I was in Switzerland haha :P "I thought the Swiss spoke German but this sounds nothing like it :') " I have no problems whatsoever with Baierisch or Tirolerisch but this I could not make sense of :P

Ne Leiche is by the way an awesome song I used to play it quite often last year :P

^German movies help too. I hope nobody on this forum plans to die before he/she has seen Das Leben der Anderen, Goodbye Lenin! and Der Fälscher. Das weisse Band is quite a must too, I've heard.

Some guys learn German with Kids TV. Spongebob for example.

How do the following songs sound to you?

SDP feat. Sido - Ne Leiche He is singing about a corpse in his basement and he don't know where it comes from. Then he thinks about how he can get rid of the corpse.

    Deichkind - Leider Geil
It's about things that are harmful/bad but awesome, such as having a couple of drinks when you've got work to do the next day, or buying cool new shoes that have been manufactured by children. Many people are lecturing others about how awful their behaviour is, but in truth they like that kind of lifestyle as well.

Aaaah Die Prinzen! Deutschland is so funny haha Somewhere in 2010 I think Michael Schumacher started racing for Mercedes and the very first thing I thought upon reading that news was "oh.. Now he doesn't fit the song anymore" LOL :P

My German appears to be quite rusty at the moment.. Last week I bumped in to a few Austrians and I'm still able to keep up conversation but I find that I'm not as fluent as I used to be.. Gotta practice some more :P

I don't know about you, but music helped me a lot while learning german. Not only Rammstein, but also Die Prinzen helped me a lot (as Rammstein very interesting and with lots of humor). Their song Deutschland for example is a funny, entertaining way to learn about Germany, the language and their history
