  • Anyone else seen "SPECTRE"? I actually liked it a lot. With the exception of "Quantom of Solace"(which I don't dislike, it just wasn't anything big for me) I really enjoyed all Bond films including Daniel Craig. I can't tell if I like this one more than "Skyfall" yet, but I think that the Sam Mendez directed Bond films ("Skyfall" and "SPECTRE") have suprised me on many levels. Many say that he is able to blend the modern gritty and realistic Bond, without forgetting about the tongue-and-cheek humor and the themes from the older films.

In addition, if you always had a feeling that what the perfect Bond movie lacked was brief tentacle-porn and Bond threatening a mouse with a gun, well then this movie is certainley for you.

    • I just bought the ticket for R+-day on Tindrbox. Now I can think about for the next couple of month if I really want to go to a festival, I better book a b'n'b too, I can always cancel the booking.later.

      • If I timed the train right I could possibly get back Friday night after seeing R+ at Donnington, but do I want to go to another bloody festival? I could get a ticket for the whole weekend and watch Black Sabbaths latest 'final' tour, or I could just flush the money down a toilet because to be honest I would consider the sound of the flush to be better value for money.
So, the Friday it is so long as there's a late train back to Birmingham. Then of course I will have to pay a fortune to a licenced bandit in a taxi to get back home. Oh woe is me!

Yep, looking forward to seeing part 2 next Friday. I like he doesn't seem so sure of himself in this reincarnation, but still manages to retain his self-assurance, if that makes sense

                • It does. I mean...he's not really sure what's going to happen anymore. I mean...he could truly live forever since he's on a completely new regeneration cycle. At the very least it means years more of episodes for us

                  • Today (November 9th), 26 years ago, the Berlin Wall "fell". I wonder how Flake takes this?

                    • Today (November the 9th), 26 years ago the Berlin wall fell and I saw it happen as I was watching the television while Ironing clothes. I eventually had to stop ironing because I could no longer see through my tears. That's how I took it.

                      • ^I can only imagine what an impact events like this during the end of The Cold War had on people. Must have been an incredible period of history to experience. Very good story AIH.

Sadly, I myself wasn't even born then. However I still hope that I live to see an equally important event in history. We can only hope for good things to happen in the future.

                        • I didn't see it, but later that night I got a phonecall from people I knew in East Berlin. They kept shouting "we're in West, we walked through the wall" I thought they had fled and it took me some time before I understood what had happened and the impact of it. And I had a tremendous sense of relief.

A couple of weeks later they managed to make their way to Copenhagen, where I and some of the other people they knew here had a great time together. Later we went down to see them in Berlin, and it was a strange experience to cross over without all the usual fuss, but life in the East didn't change much, that took years. Unfortunately we since lost touch with each other. And I haven't been to Berlin for years.

                          • I love your experiences.

@The Rose Last time I said the same, I wrote an email and now I'm in contact with this person again. When you like somebody it's a pity when this happens. And now I'm going to send a message via whatsapp to another person, with him I waited two years because I was ashamed, but finally I wrote him apologizing and we are in contact since then and even have met, when we have visited the city of the other, he lives near Barcelona.

EDIT: Waiting for our next conversation, this one took 1 hour and forty minutes

                            • The Berlin Wall falling is my first childhood memory ever. Very weird that it somehow stuck in my memory; as if I knew this was somehow so important though I couldn't understand one bit of what was happening.
