Lindemann have released the NSFW official video for “Fish On.” The song appears on the band’s debut album, ‘Skills in Pills,’ released earlier this year on Warner Music.
The song from the duo of Rammstein‘s Till Lindemann and Hypocrisy‘s Peter Tagtgren is about fishing…kind of. The song is full of suggestive themes as fishing turns out to be casting nets over women running around topless in the wild. Lindemann and Tagtgren are outfitted in leather only found in shops in the darkest of alleys and riding horses that look just as hulking as the men themselves.
The women are also being chased around by Bulgarian Kukeri. They stand guard over the women after they are captured by the duo and are forced to pedal on stationary bikes to provide power to the building in which the band is performing.
Not before long, one of the women grabs a knife conveniently lying on the ground and kills one of the Kukeri. The girls rub blood on each other and escape, leaving the building without power and Lindemann staring around in awe wondering why the power went out.
As for the lyrics, they are bursting with sexual innuendo as the singer navigates his way through the English language, which is admittedly tough for him. In an interview with Loudwire, Till explained, “You know, I grew up in the East part of Germany so we never had English in school, we had to learn Russian. I grew up learning Russian and translating English songs when I became a teenager, we got to listen to West Germany radio stations, and learning lyrics with picture book. These are my first experiences with the English language. After that I had to learn when we went on tour in America, you learn it on the street. For me, it’s a big challenge to translate everything in English.”
