    Houston concert was awesome! Can’t wait till they tour the US again. If they decide to, that is. Joe was ok at first, got bored after a while with his set. Might’ve just been the excitement, though.

  • Melstefs

    Some people crack me up. When you get GA tickets for a Rammstein concert you ought to know what you’re getting yourself into, unless you didn’t watch any of the various videos on the Tube thing. There was some shoving and pushing going on at the Toyota Center in Houston no doubt. You have these airheads at just about any rock concert. Thankfully we had our seats in section 107, great seats that is. They came down the stairs right next to us.

    As far as Jeo Letz goes, he did a good enough job to get the near sellout crowd going. Yea, I didn’t like everything he did, but it really wasn’t all bad. I thought it was a great bridge into the actual opening with no breaks in between. Nothing in this concert was of the ordinary, Letz included and that’s a good thing, meaning it was a completely different concert experience from what you normally would see. I go to concerts to have a good time, not to critize. Take it for what it was, a different type of opening act, that’s it. We had a blast, truly the experience of a lifetime. I had so many friends and co-workers say: I wish I would have gone. That was when I told them about what they missed. I just hope they come back again so that more people can experience this unique band live.

    \m/ o \m/

  • Courtney

    Meh. Doesn’t really make a difference to me whether I know before hand or not. I’m gonna have fun anyways 😀

  • jah

    @courtney

    2 and a half hours or so between the two of them..but why would you really want to know that? it’s better NOT knowing…but now I’ve told you…so..there you go

  • Courtney

    Oh I forgot to ask, how long do their concerts typically run?

  • Courtney

    Super excited about tomorrow, sucky opener or not. I’m gonna try to get to the Toyota Center around 11ish. God its gonna be a long hot wait.

  • Abgewichst

    @IconoclastAgent

    Really? Joe Letz is a terrific drummer, and the Dub Step mix of Du Hast was the best remix he did.

    You’re an ungrateful little bitch. He put in a good show. Obviously he’s good friends with Richard. I don’t see what your problem is. Why don’t you go crawl back into the wretched womb you came out of?

  • iconoclastAgent

    Joe Letz was terrible! Last year, I got to see him as a terrible drummer. This year, as an even worse DJ. I’ll admit, the first thing he did had potential, but he never went anywhere with it. Then, the biggest insult… dubstepping Du Hast! When there was a lull in the sound, I (being front row right in front of him), yelled “YOU F—ING SUCK!” and flipped him off. He heard me. Save for a few fangirls, the crowd pretty much agreed with me by throwing those stupid glowsticks he rubbed on his crotch right back at him. All he did was make me more grateful for Rammstein to come out and play good music!

  • LittleLuckyLink

    I just really hope that the crowd isn’t too fucking violent. Really I’d rather enjoy the band rather than fight people.

  • LittleLuckyLink

    Perhaps I’ll try a bit earlier. One thing’s for sure, here in Texas with the hot weather, it’s going to be one fucking grueling wait.

  • Abgewichst

    @LittleLuckyLink

    Yes, they just put those numbers on there to track how many tickets there are. The Row and Seat numbers do not have any bearing on where you will be. Floor is GA.

    I’ve always gone at least 10 hours early. The die hards are there 10 to 12 hours before the doors open. I’d say 8 hours would be the latest to get in line.

  • LittleLuckyLink

    I have a ticket for the San Antonio concert this Thursday. My ticket says I’m in “General Admission Row 3, Seat 11,” but I’m pretty convinced from the things I’ve read on here that it’s just going to be a huge pit.

    If that’s the case, hopefully getting there 7 hours early will be sufficient lmao.

  • HeavyMetalKeith

    Can’t wait for this Friday. The Toyota Center is gonna explode. Saw AC\DC there in ’08 or ’09 and it was pretty loud. Hopefully I go deaf from this one!

  • Michelle

    Really? I think I repeatedly poked someone’s nose behind me on Thursday @ the Honda Center.

  • Diana

    I got a black eye from being in the pit!

  • Liach

    vancouver was great. There was moshing in the middle but on the side was great.

  • Courtney

    @Kain: That’s good then ^^ let’s hope that in such a big city like Houston, we’ll get a good mixed turnout. I never would’ve thought little kids would be there, lol. It’s all good though. I’d bring my godson if he wasn’t so young (1 year on the 23rd).

    @Danny: I don’t know honestly, but I do know that their music attracts those kinds of people simply because the band is German and controversial.

    @Abge: Thanks for the heads up and yeah people are always a bit shocked to find that I listen to metal. I think they’re usually expecting me to say I listen to Nikki Minaj or Beyonce, lol.

    As for other possible opening acts like the discussion above was talking about, if they wanted to have an American band, I think Allegaeon would’ve been awesome. They’re a technical death metal band, so they’re quite different from Rammstein musically, but they are really good. I’d like it if the boys toured with lesser known bands or bands just starting out. There are some truly deserving young bands out there that could really use some help getting their name out there.

  • Kain

    @Courtney

    Saw them for the first time about a week ago. The crowd demographic was more mixed than any other show I’ve ever been to before. People of every color, ranging from very little kids to very elderly adults. Jocks, nerds, metalheads and teeny-boppers lol

  • FireThunder

    I wasn’t expecting much, but I thought that Joe Letz did a great job getting the crowd amped up. The remixes were pretty well done as well. I wish I had a copy of the first one he did, mixing Ich Tu Dir Weh with Amerika.

  • Danny

    Wow! Is neo nazism a problem at the shows in the states? What a bunch of morons

    I think it’s only natural to feel a little nervous for your first show. I know I was but it’s more worrying about the unknown. The fact is worrying about it is pointless, it doesn’t help you in any way & only serves to make you doubt your decision to go. I guarantee you’ll have the time of your life.

    Whilst I can only speak for shows in Europe, I will say that the people I’ve met at Rammstein shows were far more friendly than the fans at other bands’ shows I’ve been to. My only advice would be that if the crowd makes you feel uncomfortable, stand further away from the stage. Things are less hectic towards the back & you do get a better view than you might think. On this tour I stood next to the mini stage (you get closer to the band than you would being at the front of the main stage) & it was easily the crowning achievement of my life. If you follow Abgewichst’s advice & go front & centre, prepare to have your eyebrows burnt off :D. Have fun

  • Abgewichst

    @Courtney

    You’re black, no I’m not into being PC, and I HIGHLY doubt you’ll be jumped. I see few black people at these things, but I have seen some. If anything, they’re just as welcome as everyone else. I used to play a “Where’s Waldo” type game with it. Haven’t seen many in the GA floor, definitely not on the rail! Needless to say, Rammstein fans are predominately white. I guess metal fans are in general. Seeing a black girl dressed in goth clothes is something you don’t see everyday…

    Like I said, make some friends, and you should be good. Rammstein shows are such a mix of people, you’ll meet people from everywhere. Security is usually pretty good at these things.

    I wouldn’t worry too much.

  • Courtney

    @abgewichst

    I’m going to the Houston show at the Toyota Center. We’re the last stop of the tour. Luckily I’ve planned my class and work schedule to have Friday’s off so it’s all good. I might catch a ride with my folks in the morning, they’ll think I’m nuts lol.

    Also since I know there are idiots, I’m a little nervous about just what kind of idiots the band will attract. I’m black (or African-American if you’re into being PC) and I really don’t wanna be on the 6 o’clock news for getting jumped by neo-nazis or skinheads.

  • Abgewichst

    @Courtney

    I would go no later than 10 hours early. I may know some people going, where are you going? The die hards are there 12 hours before the doors open, usually 6 to 7. You should be able to get along with the people there. MOST of them are there for the same reason. You get a few idiots, but the ones there 10 to 12 hours early, make friends with them. They’ve most likely been through it before, and know how the game is played. Plus, you make friends, you can leave the line and come back. Stick to yourself, you may not be able to do that.

    Also, make friends with the people around you on the rail. They’ll have your back. It’s a completely different experience being up front. I can’t explain it. I was still “high” off the energy several hours later, driving home. It’s just wonderful.

  • Courtney

    @abgewischt

    It starts @ 7 here I think, what time should I get there? I totally wanna meet some fans as well, even though I’m nowhere near social, lol. Anyways,I plan on getting to that rail and anyone who tries to pry me off is gonna get a swift kick. I’d like though if someone was nice enough to have my back though.

  • Abgewichst

    @Courtney

    My first concert was okay. Get there early, meet the die hard R+ fans like me, and get on the rail. Don’t leave the rail. It’s a mess down there. People will try to toss you up, or squeeze in, or pry you off. Hopefully some strong guys, like myself, will help. I had shoulders locked with a guy next to me to keep someone from getting between the girls next to us. I hope you have a good time, though.

  • Courtney

    @abgewishct and Michelle

    Man, now I’m starting to get nervous. This is my first major concert and I have GA Floor seats…I really don’t wanna get involved in a mosh but I wanted to see my favorite band up close.

  • Abgewichst

    Yes. This is why I’m glad I got seats for one of the shows. I’ve been to a few, but Detroit was exactly like this. Someone was smoking pot the whole concert in the middle of the pit, some asshole tried prying me off the rail, then threatened to toss me over. I’m sick of that. I wait 12+ hours for a concert, and can’t even enjoy it. Yes, it was still awesome, but it’s unfortunate that things like this happen. I love being on the rail, right in front of RZK, but I think I was able to enjoy the show better from the stands. Middle of the arena, lower level. Best spot. I’ve seen them up close a few times, got a pick from my hero, I think I’ll keep my distance for a while.

  • Michelle

    Courtney, I couldn’t agree with you more.
    I mean, this topic got a lot of people talking about the opening for America. I mean I really don’t care about this stupid Combichrist guy remixing Rammstein songs before the real show starts. I have attended 2 past Rammstein shows, and you know what people, I went to the concerts to see Rammstein, not the opening act.

  • Leann (TochterVonJurgens)

    My opinion is just this:

    Last year, when R+ announced dates quick and shows sold out, the TRUE R+ fans were there, becuz they are our boys, and those who just go to concerts to start shyt didn’t get to get in. THIS year though, was a marked difference. My husband and I attended Chicago; the opening act was great; who cares who it is; but when R+ entered, the floor was amass of shoving, kicking, biting ,punching… for no reason… WHY? Last year, the floor (GA admission) contained civil, true fans who respected each other. BOTH my husband and I were shoved OFF of our feet and didn’t touch the floor for a good 2-5 minutes; because we were shoved up on top of people. I had adrenaline running so high and hard for 45 minutes trying to keep my place on the floor just so I could see, that we both just said, “F- it, our lives are not worth R+”. We left. I love you boys, and I know it is not your fault, but this year’s shows are out of control.

  • Courtney

    Ugh…I dont like Combichrist OR Deathstars. Remixes? Screw that crap. They need better openers. At least I have Rammstein to look forward to.

  • TheHyena

    just gotta say thank god its not Deathstars… that band sucks live… atleast Combichrist was good

  • I thought Letz did very well! I liked the remix of ITDW the best 🙂

  • Cabanon

    Dubstep, Yes
    Rammstein, Yes
    Dubstep + Rammstein, NO

    this sucked deep balls and was a disgrace to music. dang.

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    wrote twice as P***Y
    is naughty word :O

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    The best RAMM remix is the BLACK STROBE remix of KEINE LUST !! 😀

    I also do like Scooters remix of P***Y—- its a guilty pleasure LOL shhhh !

    “Just a lil biiiiiiiiiiiiit”

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    The best rammstein remix is the BLACK STROBE remix of KEINE LUST !!!

    ..and a little guilty secret of mine is that i like the scooter PUSSY remix too HAHAHAHAH 😀 !

    “just a little bitttt”

  • The Dude

    I’m usually not a fan of Dubstep or Skrillex, but the stuff that he did was amazing and really got every one pumped (especially those stoners XD ).

  • Abgewichst

    Saw them in Cleveland, going to Detroit on Sunday. I liked the Dubstep remixes of Mein Teil and Du Hast.

  • Abgewichst

    I’m here to say, Rammstein Konzerten auf Nord Amerika have 96.7% more WUB WUB.

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    Amen to that!!!!!

  • Joe’Merica

    Concert not convert.

  • Joe’Merica

    Honestly? I don’t like metal at all. I listen to everything but metal. HOWEVER I do love and enjoy Rammstein. My tastes are very vast and odd…Rammstein is like the only metal I will listen to and I am still going to the convert.

  • Danny

    After reading what The Dude said, I checked out Letz on youtube at the Montreal gig. It was a bit wub wub but looked pretty entertaining and the way it blended straight into the Rammstein entrance was cool. I’d be interested to hear the opinions of other people who’ve been on the US tour

    @NO-1

    Even by a Rammstein fan’s standards, licking a toilet seat is kinky 😀

  • Abgewichst

    @ NO-ONE

    I’m glad you didn’t think I was referring to you when I said NO ONE. I realized you might after I posted it, but it looks like we’re all good.

    You’d rather lick a toilet seat? Okay… You have your opinions, I have mine. I personally would rather listen to Caliban, but if you like toilet seats, well, to each their own.

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    @ Abgewich-sssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh

    I take it back lol – there is NO ONE worse than the abomination that is Justin Bieber!!!!!

    BUT I’d still rather lick a toilet seat than listen to Caliban!
    Their cover of ‘sonne’ belongs in my nightmares!

    Killswitch are lush – however since Howard left they have become cruddy 🙁 —
    lol

  • The Dude

    I showed up last night expecting him to suck like combichrist did, but was actually surprised of how entertaining it was. He did cool remixes and really got the crowed into the mood for a strong show like Rammstein (There was no break between the shows either, they continued his opening). Ièm sorry but I can’t stand Oomph, Eisbrecher or Deathstars, and am happy they took him (just an opinion).

  • Mark

    I find the idea of someone doing DJ mixes of R+ tracks bloody awful. I don’t believe it will go down well.
    I hope the guy can duck.

  • Abgewichst

    That’s right. The guitar harmonies were awesome. Also, people hate Caliban for “ruining” Sonne. They were just paying homage to the greatest band in the world by covering one of their songs. If anything, they were honoring them.

  • Danny

    I’m not really a fan of Caliban but I wouldn’t say metalcore sucks. There’s plenty of good bands under that banner (Killswitch, Unearth). And despite not really being a Caliban fan I liked their cover of sonne. The guitar harmonies in place of female vocals were rad. One of the great things about Rammstein is that it brings together fans of all kinds

    People just need to remember that; as mad as it sounds, people have varying opinions. It’s because of that reason that untterly contemptible skid marks like Chris Brown are able to make a living. He’s a vile excuse for a human being, his music is bland regurgitated pop plop & his lyrics have absolutely no message what so ever. Some people (I.E morons) think differently and we just all have to accept that. Your opinion is an OPINION. It is not fact. Lets all just get along

  • KhaosorKarma

    @ABGEWICHST, I am with you. I don’t care what music you listen to, as a metal fan, I will NOT trash it! That’s way these toxic narcissistic assholes are. Negative with no respect. Danny is right on dude, don’t waste your time, you don’t need their fucking approval. I have never seen an ass who talked like a human being, but I have read many human beings who talked like asses on this forum. If they dont like Metalcore, they can fuck off and do you a favor!

    All Rammstein fans are not equal on this forum.

  • Abgewichst

    @ NO ONE, Rammfan,

    Metalcore is not just grubling noise and grunts. Some people think that’s all Rammstein is, we all know that isn’t true.

    Their Sonne cover wasn’t terrible. It was actually really good. Of course, the original is the best, but Caliban played it like Caliban plays it. They are a very deep band. Their lyrical content is amazing. It’s not on Rammstein’s level, but a lot of their music is very meaningful.

    Oh, and NO ONE is as bad as bieber. No one.

    I didn’t expect to be attacked like this. I just listed off my favorite German Metal bands, and Dethklok. If you haven’t listend to DAR, check them out. They are in second place. Rammstein, DAR, and Knorkator are my top three. OOMPH, Caliban and WBTBWB are in there somewhere.

    I guess I learned that you guys don’t like metalcore. I won’t bring it up again…

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    @ Abgewichshshsh-blah-ssshhh

    I can prove Caliban SUCK!!! – just look at what they did with their cover of ‘SONNE’ – very very very poor! – possibly the worst cover of a song ever lol

    metalcore is just grumbling noise and grunts – theres no point to it! –
    …Caliban are as bad as justin Bieber HAHAHAH

    – each to their own and everything –
    At least we all agree RAMMSTEIN are the BEST!

  • Kayleigh

    Not sure how to feel about this. Remixes of Rammstein songs? I would have preferred the full Combichrist unit as an opening act, or the Deathstars. Or Apocalyptica.

  • RICHARDS BIGGEST FAN

    @NO-1-RAMM-FAN Deathstars were awesome in London i am with you on that one.

    @MARK Weirdo

  • Danny

    @Abgewichst

    Dude, there’s no such thing as subjectivity on the internet :D. It’s all black & white around these parts. Something is either “awesome” or it “sucks”. For what it’s worth, I’m with you but I found out a looooooong time ago that you can’t get through to people so I gave up trying to be reasonable.

  • The Heart of Turisas

    That doesn’t mean it’s good.

  • Abgewichst

    You know RZK likes to listen to Dub Step, right?

  • The Heart of Turisas

    @Abgewichst

    “Seriously, there’s atrocities being passed off as “music” these days.” and “I like Metalcore and Dub-Step”. You’re kidding me right?

  • Jake

    Letz kicked ass

  • Littleluckylink

    While I do tend to keep a pretty open mind in regards to music, I typically find that anything ending with core is all the same shit. I dislike the sound, I find it highly pretentious, and would never listen to it again after hearing it before. I’ll get along with just any other metal scene except a bunch of teenage hipsters thinking they can make metal.

  • Abgewichst

    Why can’t we just get along? Yes, I love Rammstein more than anything on the face of this earth, but all metal fans should just get along. Seriously, there’s atrocities being passed off as “music” these days. Pretty much all the stuff that’s “pop.” Metal is music. I like Metal, Industrial Metal, Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Speed Metal, Thrash Metal, Metalcore, and Hard Rock. Oh, and Dub-Step.

  • Littleluckylink

    Oh god no not Caliban, never. I hate metalcore and anything else that ends with “core.” and especially what they did to Sonne.

  • Abgewichst

    @NORAMMFAN

    Prove it!

  • Abgewichst

    Also, Joe Letz would still be an opener if Emigrate opened, just sayin’…

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    Caliban Suck!

  • Abgewichst

    No. You’re all wrong. Joe Letz kicks ass, at drums, and Combichrist rocks live. Deathstars do suck, however. Also, OOMPH! is good, but Die Apokalyptischen Reiter are better. Want a kick ass German opener? DAR. Or Megaherz, Caliban, Knorkator, We Butter the Bread with Butter, why not Dethklok?

  • Glenn

    Jake – When I saw rammstein in 2010 and combichrist played I was like “wtf is this shit?”

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    OOMPH! – they are without a doubt the 2nd Best German band around! – been going wayyyy longer than RAMM and they deserve more credit for their hard work ! – they rock 😀

  • Snake

    You know what would actually be a great opener for the US dates? Godsmack.

  • AvastCris

    HOLY FUCK @ Spartan-45 Eisbrecher would be an AMAZING opening act. by far my second favorite German band. or even Stahlmann would be a good opener. it sucks that Deathstars werent opening on their US tour. instead we get a wannabe DJ mixing Rammstein’s song….before Rammstein Plays them.

  • jah

    uhm..yeah..if he only mixes rammstein songs..i hope it’s songs they won’t be playing..but in that case..I don’t want to know what they won’t be playing..especially if it’s a song I love…OR if he deconstructs the shit out of em….could be alright….guess I will see; how do people feel so far?

  • SPARTAN-45

    One word for an amazing opening act for Rammstein, EISBRECHER!!!!!

  • KhaosorKarma?

    I agree, who gives a shit who opens! They don’t need a band to open for them anywhere. They are Rammstein! NO I RF, I bet your ass gets jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth! Treten Sie Zurzuk.

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    Right on – Danny 😀

  • Danny

    Meh! I was never a fan of theirs in the first place but each to their own. Maybe the sound did suck where I was (front row of the mini stage). Support bands do tend to struggle for sound in large venues. I just couldn’t understand a word the singer said, it sounded so muffled. But I did find his mincing up & down to be amusing so they had some entertainment value

  • Bleu

    Seriously? He’ll be performing DJ mixes of Rammstein songs? Who the hell wants to see that? We don’t even get an actual opening band that’s talented, we get a wannabe DJ. That’s retarded. Oh well, hopefully his set won’t go that long. I’m going there for Rammstein anyway (obviously), but still. I just don’t want to be frickin’ annoyed to death while I wait.

  • Zman

    Bringing a sign to Baltimore reading “Joe Letz has no talent”

  • Jake

    Oh no no Death Stars! Who gives a shit as long as we get Rammstein isn’t that all that matters

  • Mark

    I saw Deathstars in Birmingham. I was quite impressed.

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    No they certainly did not suck at london! I was in the front row and that being the 5th time of seeing Deathstars, I thought they did very well for a large venue.

    METALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !

  • Danny

    People actually liked the Deathstars? I went to the London gig & thought they were poor. The majority of the people around me at the time thought the same. Maybe we all just happened to be in an area where the sound sucked for 45 minutes???

  • Gritt D.

    BUUUHHH DJ LETZ. What a f… in Ft. Lauderdale. It takes to long. 15 minutes will be good,but not 30 minutes !

  • Zman

    NOOOOO! Why no Deathstars???? WTF?

  • NO-1-RAMM-FAN

    HA-HA … gutted AMERIKAAAAA – Deathstars were such a great support band and your gonna miss out- BIG TIME!

  • ChadR

    I was hoping for deathstars also. Dont care for combichrist. One other thing. Whoever is doing there promoting for the USA dates are doing a horriable job. I only know about there tour because i watch for there tour dates. Other than that, i havnt heard one mention of there north american tour. My sister has said the same and she lives in philly where they’re going to be(and i have tickets for).

  • Michelle

    ehh, I don’t really care.. xD

  • Littleluckylink

    Damnit, I was really hoping for Deathstars.

  • Jake

    haha Glenn combichrist sucked I was laughing me ass off when they played

  • Jake

    Why dosent emigrate open with richards voice on playover

  • Glenn

    jesus not them again. maybe it won’t be so bad, being only one of them and the songs being remixes of rammstein….idk
