FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

  • I think this was a good interview. Less an Emigrate promo and move informative than the other recent videos have been. I like how he talks about Emigrate as different for him than the live production that is Rammstein, and I agree that there are very likely fans who look at Rammstein only in terms of the image or the shock value, without really considering the music itself.

I look forward to the Live DVD and the documentary both, though this made it sound like the documentary is still in production. :P I am very interested to hear Till's solo project! I'm curious what it will sound like.

Even though this seems to confirm nothing really new for a long time (a year before a decision is even made), it seems to offer hope that more will be coming from them.

And once again, can I just say I wish I had a job that would allow me to take a couple years off work and still be able to do whatever I want and then come back when I'm good and ready.

    • ^The problem is, that should had been his speech/approach from the very beginning, not just now. Not that I don't appreciate sincerity, but I always though it was a dick move to use his Rammstein status to promote Emigrate and than bitch and moan about Rammstein. Still, better to pull his head out of his ass later than never.

After all, nothing is better than eternal happiness, and a ham sandwich is certainly better than nothing. Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness."

      • ^Has he actually really said anything negative about Rammstein in those interviews? He said he likes how he can make decisions on his own in Emigrate and not in the democratic Rammstein, which seems quite an objective and accurate perception. Democracy always has that flaw, so also in Rammstein.
And that he couldn't do anything he wants, but that's also legit and true and not negative about the band.

Well, in the end the fans use Rammstein as well to come to Emigrate. There won't be many people who got to know or appreciate Emigrate without Rammstein. And even in Emigrate interviews people will always ask about Rammstein, that's a curse as well. Like Slash always has to talk about his Guns N' Roses years or Dave Grohl always has to put his Foo Fighters-talk aside to answer questions about Kurt Cobain. If Emigrate would put their interviews on other boards than those of Rammstein, people would still check them out, searching for Rammstein info.

        • ^He didn't really trashtalked Rammstein, but from the stuff I've read myself, he admitted that he does not enjoy composing with them, that he liked Rammstein to have good sows and Emigrate to make good music, and that the thought off coming back to compose with Rammstein depressed him.

You can make an argument about him not really crossing the line, but he clearly was dancing on top of it.

^Agree, it was the mood of his words when talking about Rammstein. Talking about liking the shows but not the music is spreading negativity in my opinion.

            • Well, it's indeed noticable that he stresses out the show element of Rammstein and the music of Emigrate on the other hand. He could've been more tactical and / or carefull with that. Although I'm sure when Rammstein will be on the road again he'll be once again te most enthusiastic one during interviews.

Boys and girls, we have Rammstein news!!!!

Jonas Akerlund in an interview for VICE Polska published yesterday, has said he is working in a Rammstein film.

                Translation by Google

Can you tell me about the film you are working on at the moment?
Probably not, because it's still unofficial information. But my goal is to make this film next year. Currently I am finishing a video for Rammstein - large, conceptual image. It will be great! With Rammstein always works out great, a lot of fun on the set but it will be something big. Besides still do some advertising and other stuff. The last video I did for David Guetta. So I do not work only on one film. Although officially soon I will be able to confirm what I was waiting the most.
                Translation by Marek Piorko:
"Jonas Akerlund received Camerimage award for his videoclip work - he appeared in Bygdoszcz few weeks ago to claim it. Regarding this, an interview for Vice Polska appeared, in which Akerlund says something about his current project. Allow me to translate:
"Right now I am finishing a movie for Rammstein - a massive, conceptual image. It will be magnificent! You always have fun while working on set with Rammstein, but this will be great"."

                • Movie huh? Or video? Either way, I like his work and it will be nice to see something new

                  • Whatever the movie is about, I hope they save the Bercy footage for a proper live DVD and don't convert it into a film. I really don't like the idea of a movie/documentary about a concert, I only want the raw concert.

I would like the raw concert, but the movie rumor is back again, and I'm afraid he won't do it that way. I will use @AiH words, I can't find a better way of saying it

I want to do the same for any new DVD/Bluray. I don't want anything cutting into the gig and I don't want to hear opinions dropped in between songs either. Also, I'm not interested in anything that might win an international film award, I just want the concert footage on one disc and anything else relegated to a second/third disc.
We have already had the videos collection released twice at full price under different names, so how about something that is ACTUALLY new?
How about the actual unadulterated footage of a gig?

                      • I think I have to agree. My preference would definitely be for the complete, uninterrupted concert, and then a separate disc for all the commentary and interviews, etc.

                          • In any case, my bet is that we will get to see the MSG dvd before we get this film.

                            • I'd prefer a pure concert as well, but another aproach might work very well too. With Iron Maiden's Flight 666 I'm actually not at all bothered by the small interruptions because they are very well integrated in the gigs (with the end of the song fading, quickly interjecting some side footage and than back to the concert). Rammstein hasn't let me down yet, so I'm expecting something good !
