I had an amazing time Sunday night at the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton with my good friend Mick Taylor and a few of his mates. We watched Girls School, Fastway and the mighty Saxon. I have to say I didn't expect much from girls School but they blew me away. Fastway were kind of Bluesy/hard rock. Their vocalist had an incredible voice, but Micks explanation of how the guy managed to hit the high notes is probably best not recorded here....
Then came Saxon. What a band!
Biff had the audience from the off, and every song from 'Never Surrender' to '747' (yes they actually played it!), delivered a set that finished up a perfect metal evening. Was that all? Was it fuck! During the encore Eddy returned to the stage and they played a blistering version of 'Ace of Spades'!
We returned to Birmingham drunk but very happy men.
