FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

Time to bring this old thread back to life !

    - Did you know the album title Sehnsucht was in fact chosen because of the word "Sucht" (Eng. "urge") in it? "Sucht", according to Flake, is a theme that connects the songs of the album, like there's sex-Sucht, cocaine-Sucht, Eifer-Sucht, death-Sucht etc.

    - During and after the end of Feeling B, up till 1993 Paul and Flake played in over 12 bands! Paul was usually producing and playing the guitar, Flake playing the keyboards, though both of them played the drums a few times as well.

    - When Schneider was asked to join Rammstein, he stipulated that he would do it only if Paul wouldn't be part of Rammstein. He had already worked 5 years with Paul, thought he was an exhausting type of person and, after all, just left Paul's band. He didn't want to be part of any project anymore that involved Paul or Feeling B. Luckily Till was very interested in Paul's talents and in the end managed to get them both in.

Yes, I did, but it's also mentioned in that book about Feeling B (Feeling B - Mix Mir Einen Drink from 2002 by R. Galenza and H. Havemeister). I'll quote a part of Schneider's rant in german for you:

"Denn ich hatte schon die letzten fünf, sechs Jahre mit Paul gespielt, und Paul ist ein anstrengender Typ. Ich erklärte: Ich mach unter der Bedingung mit, dass Paul nicht mitmacht. Ich war bei denen ja ausgestiegen."

If I read Schneider's testimonies, I have to say it seems like we were very lucky to see him join Rammstein for he had a lot of objections. Like for instance the first singing session with Till he called "a catastrophe", stating he believed Till would never ever be a good singer.

        So I'll go on!

        - All Rammstein members have blue eyes, except for Olliver

        - The album title Herzeleid was chosen because many of the band members were having a difficult time in their personal life during the production period (like Kruspe having a difficult break-up with his girlfriend; he and Till than lived together for a while, pretty much holding on to each other).

Interesting. I always imagined Paul as an easy-going person. Not described as difficult and exhausting. Hmmmm . . .

And I continue, please join me if you know other cool stuff!

              - Did you know the cover of the album Rosenrot was actually the cover of the japanese version of Reise, Reise? Japan found the original cover of Reise, Reise with the black box of an airplane too disturbing. So the band came up with the idea of an icebreaker, and they themselves liked the result actually so much that they used it for their next album. And that next album was first called Reise, reise 2, but it was changed eventually.

              - Although the entire band comes from Berlin and see it as their home town, Rosenrot was the only album that had songs recorded in a studio in Berlin (about 6 of them).

              - For Te quiero puta! the band hired a Mexican to play along with them on the song. Parts of the song were even recorded in that man's kitchen.

And I go on and on and on...

                - Till wrote the lyrics of Benzin after being inspired by the movie "Love Liza" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0282698/) about a man who turns obsessed by gasoline after the suicide of his wife.

                - After the release of the album Herzeleid, many songs were critically analyzed, often with a very negative outcome. In one social study the researcher even claimed that Till for sure must be someone with a dangerous, borderline-mind.

^Thx. It's hard though to make up what's already well known and what isn't. Usually I dig very deep just to make sure at least most people haven't heard it yet.

^Oh, it's not just from the book. I managed to lay my hand on quite a few interviews with the band as well, especially from the period 2005 - 2006. Some things I can add:

                        - The making of the video Sonne lasted two days. The first day ended very late and therefore the band members didn't feel like driving home all the way from Babelsberg. So the six of them decided to let themselves be locked in the studio for the night and sleep together in the little dwarfs house form the video.

                        - One of the conditions of the reluctant Flake to join the band was that there wouldn't be any english singing. We all know later on he turned more flexible about that.

                        - For the album Reise, reise the band really struggled several months with coming up with a title. It was hard for them as no song on the album really seemed to have a powerfull title to mark the entire album, like with the previous records. First the title was going to be Amore, than Rosenrot and than just Rot (the first working title was in fact Das Rote Album). In the beginning of 2004 Richard even says that they had the title Reise, Reise, but that didn't sound well, even ridiculous, if you compare to the previous ones, so for the moment Reise, reise would just be the working title. In september 2004 Richard stated that they will use Reise, Reise after all, as it actually doesn't sound bad and it has many interpretations, offers many perspectives.

Some of the questions for the LIFAD contest:

The german model Nadja Auermann was originally casted for a role in the music video „Du riechst so gut“ (1995), but she didn't couldn't make time in her schedule.

In the beginning of the two shows in Berlin, Wuhlheide in the year 1998, Rammstein wanted to show a special effect, that wasn`t realizable for legal reasons by German authorities. For both Wuhlheide concerts in August 1998 was supposed to start with inflying helicopters bathing everything in a sea of light. According to the law, helicopters must keep a minimum hight of 200 meters over the audience, so it was cancelled because it would not have the wanted effect.

In the animated Rammstein video „Links 2-3-4“ ants are playing football. To get the ants to move so that it looks like they are playing a game, they had to use 2 special means/agents. Which ones are we talking about?
Zoran Bihac placed sugar water, cloves juice and ammonia around to get the ants to move.
(sugar water where they were supposed to go, and cloves juice and ammonia where they weren't supposed to go).

                              (more coming soon) :P
