FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

    • The DP of the "Radio" video teased on his instagram account that a new Rammstein music video will be out on May 15th. Some rumors about this being the video for "Ausländer" that was shot in South Africa.

      • Wonder if this album will get its own Rosenrot equivalent. I always heard Rosenrot was cut Reise, Reise tracks. Which is funny, because it was my favorite album for a long time. With the exception of Te Quiero Puta!, I just never did like that song very much.

        • There is already a bunch of reviews of this album. The common verdict seems to be that it's a good-quality but safe Rammstein album with no big suprises. The ratings seem to set around 8/10 or 3-4/5.

Haha, I know, I do like the Rosenrot album very much as well; it has more layers and depth than most Rammstein songs. It was also the first record the media overall described as a very decent album, even the more traditional, often provoked critics called it a solid album. But it wasn't actually cut Reise, Reise tracks in strict sense; they just had 5-6 songs extra and decided which ones they'd keep for later after some discussion. Paul said it had the weird outcome of Rosenrot being a very melancholic album, which they didn't meant to do at all. It was just coincidentially that the darker songs remained together for the next record, and were followed by some other melacholic work.

              Beginning to doubt this.

"Which is better, eternal happiness or a ham sandwich? It would appear that eternal happiness is better, but this is really not so! After all, nothing is better than eternal happiness, and a ham sandwich is certainly better than nothing. Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness."

                • I did not simply have the patience to wait for tomorrows release, so I've listened the album through a few times now.

I'm happy to say I like the album very much more I thought I would after the first two singles. I've grown to like Radio more and more with time, and Deutchland is also a decent song, but still bit of disappointment. In my opinion it might be the weakest song in the album.

It's not as heavy and dark album as LIFAD was, which should already be clear after the singles. It's very balanced album, none of the songs made me feel that I want to replay this immediately, (though now there are already few favourites I like to play more than others) also none of the songs were lame or made me feel disappointed. They are very good quality songs, but there are no clear blockbusters. Maybe some of the songs will grow on me more over time, like always happens with new music.

After 10 years of waiting I thought it would be impossible for the band to deliver anything else but a disappointment, but I was wrong. It's no Sehnsucht or Mutter, but no LIFAD either. I'm very happy with this.

                  • One thing I haven't done in this forum, is rank all the albums from best to worst (or "least good" in this case). Once "untitled" comes out, I will write a review and place it in rank with the other albums.

                    1.Mutter (10/10)
I know it's a cliche choice, but like many other I think this is Rammstein's strongest album. More or less every track is a fan-favourite, with maybe the exception of Nebel and Adios (although they are classics among hardcore fans). Those two might be the weakest songs on the album, but they are still very good. The album has also a perfect blend of Rammstein's strongest sides. There is good variation between songs, and I am pretty satisfied with the length of the record.

Every tour since this album, has had a setlist with almost half of Mutter's songs. Even the long forgotten bonus track "Hallelujah" has now become a classic.

                    2. Herzeleid (9/10)
This album might not show Rammstein at their most sofisticated level. Many songs have a very monotone and repetitive structure. However, this works perfectly for the tone of this album. It might still be the band's darkest and most agressive album, there is no shred of irony or humor, which sets this apart from the newer records.

Every single track is superb, despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of "Das alte Leid".

                    3. Sehnsucht (9/10)
Despite being a lot stronger musically, and despite the fact that this album shows a lot more of Rammstein's talent, the reason why I rank it below Herzeleid is because of the album's last three tracks. "Alter Mann", "Eifersucht" and "Küss Mich" are not bad, but they simply can't hold up with the first 8 tracks of Sehnsucht. This album has overall better lyrics, production and variation than Herzeleid, however in my opinion Herzeleid has 10 strong songs as opposed to Sehnsucht's 8.

                    4. Reise, Reise (9/10)
The four singles (Mein Teil, Amerika, Ohne dich and Keine Lust) together with "Reise, Reise", are some of the bands all time best songs. The fourth album is usually were bands start to dissapoint fans, however Rammstein managed to hold up. They really took some chances. Musically this album is much softer in some places, but still keeps the Rammstein sound. "Morgenstern" and "Los" are also great, but the rest of the album is only decent.

I had a real hard time to overcome my nostalgia for this album because it used to be my favourite. But I finally decided to rank it below Sehnsucht, main reason being that this album has only 5 really strong songs, and a bunch of good ones, but doesn't come close to the level of Sehnsucht, which is an overall stronger album.

                    5. Liebe ist für alle da (8.5/10)

This album has the most consistent theme and visual style the band has ever had for a album cycle. I always defend this album because it still gets shit from a lot of old-school fans. In my opinion, the production value on this album is the best I have ever heard from Rammstein. Especially the drum and guitar sound are amazing. "Ich tu dir weh", "Waidmanns Heil", "Haifisch" and even "Pussy" became instant classics for the fans, which is a big achievement for a 20 year old band.

Sadly the album has some weaker sides as well. A lot of the songs are a bit too long and repetitive ("Rammlied", "B********" and "Wiener Blut"). To be honest, I don't really care about the album's two last songs "Mehr" and "Roter Sand". I would even go so far to say that If they were replaced by "Donaukinder" and "Führe Mich" then LIFAD would be right up there with Herzeleid and Sehnsucht.

                    6. Rosenrot (7,5 / 10)
Not much to say about this one. It has 4 strong songs "Benzin", "Rosenrot", "Mann gegen Mann" and "Zerstören". There are some decent as well like "Ein Lied", "Te quiero puta" and "Feuer und Wasser". The rest is not that memorable and I must say that I have realised that "Stirb nicht vor mir" and "Wo bist du" are very weak songs.

It's very obvious that this song consisted of leftovers from "Reise, Reise" and was completed by some remaining demos. According to some close to the band, Rammstein wanted to complete this album as quick as possible to finish their "5-album contract" with Motor Music.

It will be interesting to see were "Untitled" lands. If the album does not lose steam after "Deutschland" and Radio" which were incredibly impressive, it might be the best since record since "Mutter". That would be my most optimistic but still realistic prediciton.

                          • I will be listening "Deutschland" and "Radio" 10 minutes before Midnight. That way I can exactly at 00:00 CET start listening to "Zeig Dich" and the rest of the album on Spotify. After ten years of waiting, I truly have become this desperate.

I know, but I like to have the cover and look at what's there when I hear a new album, and the sound on my phone is not good at all
