FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

^I think it will go faster than the Lifad period. There they really started from scratch nothing having seen each other since a very tiring tour + album recording. I remember Richard saying in 2005 they really started hating each other, for him an important reason why they didn't do a Rosenrot tour (despite that being their initial purpose). I think now they separated on better terms in 2013, and actually those we heard seemed very determined to start the album productions and writing, so it looks good so far.

^^ I also wonder how this production will go. The weird thing is, despite Tägtgren saying that Rammstein have already started writing new material, a lot of Rammstein fansites show pictures of Till traverling (in fact, it seems like his flying all around the globe).

Despite the fact that we don't know much about this album production yet, I think they might have changed a few things. Paul once said that Rammstein works the best, when the 5 members who play instruments write the instrumental for themselves, and later on Till adds lyrics and gives his thoughts about the music. After that they work back and forth with the producer until the song is finished. Maybe that's their plan for this entire record. Instead of gathering all 6 members and going some place far away, followed by writing, recording and mixing with only small breaks inbetween, they have something different in mind. Maybe they only work in intervals this time, with not all members being at the same place mandatory, and taking some breaks pluss doing a tour inbetween.

Although all members have praised Rammstein's tradisional way of making an album, despite the harsh conflicts, maybe after 20 years they will have a different approach this time. But then again since we know nothing about the production yet, everything could be as it used to be.

^It would make sense after knowing how Lindemann's songs were done.

Today a new interview with Flake was released by the Berlin magazine "Strassenfeger". In short, this is what Flake said regarding Rammstein's new tour and album:

          - As of now, they are rehearsing together and writing music.
          - They are considering to not release a new record, but simply write new songs which will be released in some form. Releasing complete albums "isn't what it used to be" according to Flake.
          - Rammstein will only play festivals next year.
-They will probably play some new songs during the next tour.
          - If the band isn't going to release an entire album, they might consider to keep touring with the new songs.

This is only an excerpt from the magazines facebook site. People who live in Berlin can buy the entire issue with the full interview. Let's hope someone in another fanclub can tell us what more he said.

I want a new album, so I hope they discard that idea. I don't like buying songs in iTunes.

There aren't dates in Spain, so bad news.

I prefer a new album tour, I love the old songs but Madrid would have a chance with a bigger tour and I want new material.

Waiting anxiously for Rammstein US translation...

Thank you for the info, Chrisss. I used your text as base for the article I just published in the site (I hope you do not mind, I was in a hurry, but I left you credit for the info).
"Which is better, eternal happiness or a ham sandwich? It would appear that eternal happiness is better, but this is really not so! After all, nothing is better than eternal happiness, and a ham sandwich is certainly better than nothing. Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness."

I doubt they will play in Mexico at July 23rd and then spend an entire month doing nothing before playing one festival in Germany ("Highfield"-festival), only to end the tour right after that. I think we still have 5-10 more festival apperances that are yet to be announced. That would be the mid-July to late August dates. In that way, I do think they are able to play at least one festival in Spain or other countries in Iberia.

I'd prefer a new record as well to some loose songs and singles or so, but I'm still glad something new is coming our way. Very excited about whatever this tour is going to give us.

In the interview Flake also talks a bit about how they work in the studio. These past years all band members have worked out some material, small things that could be used for new Rammstein tracks. Now they're listening to each others work and trying to make songs out of it. Sometimes they work 4-5 days in a row on one title, sometimes they just listen to each others parts they prepared over the years. They meet up each day, and the atmosphere seems to be quite relaxed.

                    • I almost forgot to give my 2 cents:

If they think they do not have enough (or good enough) new material to create a new album, then I am fine with settling for just a new tour where they play a few new songs. It might not be the perfect comercial/financial move for the band, but it certainly is the best creative decision they can take.

                      • I hope they'll get enough good material for a full CD, I never buy downloads. Hearing new material next Summer is fine, but I'll like to get a disc as well. Seeing whatever artwork they decide to do as well is half the fun. I really liked the book for the Lindemann CD.

                        • I'm glad that they are so confident about their new songs that they want to play them live next year. It eans that preproduction is going very well and they're on good terms with each other. Yet, I wouldn't like those songs released in any way other than full album, with maybe 2 singles before it.

                          • I'd like an album too. Be nice to hear/get some new stuff from them.

                            • I think that it will be cool if Rammstein would release snippets of the songs just like Lindemann and Emigrate.

                              • And by the way, this Flake's talking about digital releasing of new songs is probably just an idea they have been toying with. They have considered an idea of releasing "Reise, Reise" as double album back then, and it was discarded later. I mean, they will probably get back to old tradition: an album of 11 songs.
