FORUM RULES ABOUT WEB-BASED LINKS TO MUSIC AND VIDEO'S

Based on latest discussions on this forum, and studiing copyright laws, it is necessary to state out new forum mandatory rules, effective immediately, so, here we are.

LINKS TO MUSIC & VIDEOS: what is legal/what is not.
NEW RULES in the forum state:

From now on in our forum users shal NOT POST TOPICS THAT containin the following :
• Requests for or links to MP3s, music videos, or other files of questionable legality
• Bootlegs

So, please do not POST A LINK TO music or videos which does not directly originate from an officially legal site.

An OFFICIALLY LEGAL SITE is: rammstein.com or rammstein.de, universal music, a legitimate music site like MTV or VIVA. The links must be direct and linked only to the approved site. Any links which have copied and transferred the music or videos from an official legal site to ANYWHERE else are NOT OFFICIAL.

• Do not ASK FOR A LINK to music or videos. If there is a legal site for either listening or viewing, xTERNAL will provide the information in the NEWS section of www.RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE.com.

WHAT YOU CAN DO in the forums: You can DISCUSS a new song or a new video.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO in the forums: provide illegal links or ask for links, give directions of any kind as to where something might be found (examples: file-sharing, other fansites, etc.). Screen caps will be allowed (within reason) AFTER a video has been made available through an OFFICIAL LEGAL LINK. Fan remixes of songs will be allowed (within reason) after the song has been officially released.

The above restrictions are necessary not because we are being “damn babies” or “. The reason is simply that RAMMSTEIN-EUROPE has made the decision to not be a facilitator of illegal activities involving copyrighted material. The reason for that is also clear. Rammstein’s Management has shown aggressive behaviour in combating copyright infringement.

Anyone who violates the spirit of the aforementioned expansion/explanation of what the RULES mean here as applied to music and videos (and this also includes the "making of videos") will meet up with one of the following consequences:

POST BLOCKED, LINK ERASED AND WORSE.... BANNED IF NECESSARY.

If you have ANY questions about what may or may not be acceptable here, you can always PM a Moderator and ask first before posting something that might get you in trouble here.

•any links to www.youtube.com (or other sharing sites of a similar nature)are generally not allowed.
While some videos like fan made items or spoof animations are allowed, we do not allow linking to youtube. Oftentimes there is/are illegal videos of Rammstein performances to the side of the linked videos. Actual Rammstein Videos which are very illegal to be hosted by that site - therefore we cannot allow links to youtube to be allowed.

So, links to youtube are now allowed - ONLY IF it is a fanmade video by you, and does not contain bootleg footage or footage of live performances or released performances. Stills from photos found on the net are OK. A montage is OK. Clips of released footage are NOT OK.

Please try to understand that sometimes while we may allow a certain individuals fanmade videos, and deny another persons it is usually because the content in it could get the forums in trouble.

Also if some individuals post their fanmade video and it turns out to be bootleg footage that they filmed themselves at a concert and consider that "fanmade" - then we will have to reverse the ruling on allowing fanmade videos PERIOD!

Here is an update on what is considered "fanmade".
Fanmade is fanmade. You did it yourself. Like cut and paste. You creatd everything yourself. No footage filmed by someone else no clips. Still images are OK.
For example:
If you go out and find 6 banana slugs in the yard, dress them up in LAB outfits, and put the skinniest one in a paper boat and play the music to SEEMANN on a kazoo. That is fanmade.

If you have a coverband and you do your own video or you have footage of YOUR band's performance. That is fanmade.

If you have images that you sketched of how you think the video for a song should have been and you put it to music - I think we can allow that.

Use your creativity.

IF YOU SEE VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, REPORT IT BY USING THE EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF RELEVANT POST.

I would very much like to read your translation of Gitta's article. Is there a link or something? Also Messer is like $200 or something crazy over here. Does anyone know a cheaper way to get it? I know it's everywhere online but I still want a real copy. I love that new book smell!

@Waidmann: Thank you very much! I've been gearing up to write this article, because I was really upset with what I used to read from various sites. When someone's fantasy starts to intermingle with the facts it becomes dangerous. And "a lie that keeps being repeated 1000 times, eventually becomes truth".
@Fellfrosch: Oh you're too kind! (blush) :* I really appreciate! As for the Mutter song, right, someone (on Wikipedia? yeaaah>.<)wrote that the song relates to Till's and Richard's unhappy relationships with their mothers, which is totall B.S. Well, I do know that Richard's relationship with his Mom wasn't honey and roses but Till is very close to his own mother. Not only did Werner mention about it in his book, but Till himself (he invited his Mom to listen to this song and she enjoyed it. They both said, the song didn't relate to their private relations at all). Also, Gitta wrote a beautiful article about Till, which I've also translated from Germand to English. And yet! some people still seem to believe in what they want to believe. Duh...:/ Notin we can do about it. As for the Messer, Fellfrosch - I think I've read somewhere that Till didn't want his fans to consider it too autobiographical, I mean.. he's writing about the world/ life in general. The same with other songs, Rammstein songs. He'd rather leave it to open interpretation. Will try to dig it up.

It's always risky to judge people's minds or feelings based upon what they produce. But the noticable thing indeed is that the melanchloy of many of his songs (here I mainly refer to the album Rosenrot which was practically written entirely by Till) seems to fit with the man we see: someone who doesn't smile too much, who lives as a secluded loner somewhere in the nature. Also in public he seems very quiet and shy (until he hits the stage that is).

On topic: nice initiative, Iroto-chan! I'm glad you found legit arguments to help these lies out of the world (intsead of many people who are just blinded by their feelings about the band, positive or negative).

I hope Till knows there are good people at bat for him like you Iroto. Maybe he seems withdrawn because he knows people jump to conclusions about him before he even has a chance to set things straight. Everyone thinks his songs are autobiographical, like Mutter for example. I think I remember reading somewhere that Mutter was more true for Richard than Till. I've read the few chapters by Werner that were translated, I really hope someday I can read the rest. Although I would really like to someday learn German fluently so that I can appreciate these things in their truest form. So much is lost in translation in usual contexts, but with Till his words have double meanings and metaphors that would especially be overlooked. I have read the translations also for Messer. Does anyone know if the book was specified as autobiographical? Or did he leave it open to interpretation?

Aww, 527 thank you! It means so much to me! I hope that by writing it I could somehow repay Till for what he has done for me. And I agree with everything you just said, Fellfrosch (Till taking a rest and so on).About that sadness and melancholic stuff: Don't laugh at me guys, but Mutter song and Zerstoeren song (the last part, when he sings in his delicate voice about that boy being abandonded by his girlfriend) they changed my soul and made me draw my attention towards miserable, lonely people, people who really need love. Really, something broke in me into pieces when I heard them ;(. And I love Till. He is like a toast. Tough on the outside, soft on the inside. Onstage - blood stained butcher boy - offstage - oh, numerous pics (and the one with Melanie) speak for themselves.
As for the lies, yes, that's HORRIBLE. And altough now the future of SonneN's project is quite uncertain (but I keep my fingers crossed for you, SonneN!) I'm really glad to see that lots of people have already made known themselves with some fragments of the book, which provides real information. not "Wikiipedia" or "made-this-all-up" information. These stupid gossips were driving me off the deep end, that's why I thought it was the highest time to do something about it.

You're right 527, lies in abundance! I really only believe what is said in filmed interviews.

I agree. He may have all the money and adoration one could ever hope for, but his eyes count for a lot in my book. I know this probably sounds really corny and stupid, but I think maybe some people just have melancholy hardwired into them, I know I do. Im not saying that I can't be happy at times, but I can always feel it creeping up on me. I think Till is the same way, and I love him for it. I would miss him dearly, but i wish sometimes he would retire. He has given us so much already, and he has said already that he loves travel and adventure. I think he would be happier if he didn't have to work on albums and tour and things....Sigh...I wish i could sit with him on a secluded dock somewhere and have some beers.

You know, Forefrosch, there is something in Till's eyes that strikes me I mean.. sadness and melancholy are dreaming in them. There is one photo of him, where I can feel it very strongly - altough I am not entirely sure if I can post it here. But yes. Also given the fact, that he witnessed his Dad's and Grandma's death, together with his Mom, add up numerous unpleasant accidents and injuries during his swimming career, some dreadful things he witnessed during his journey to India? (he mentioned about them in one of the interviews from Poland, it kinda slipped my mind as to which country he was talking abou specifically, I have to dig it up, but one thing I remember, he said something among these lines: "I was the witness of all those dreadful things people did to children and women) and ... poems.. I know we shouldn't take all of them too "privately", but still I think some of them do reflect his own life experiences. I think he's gone through a lot
    *hugs Till*

Itoto-chan, People do like to twist things to fit their reality. It's a matter of fact; we all do it but some to a major degree. I like when Richard said in an interview that the fans want their idea of their star and not the actual person playing the role . For most people, it is the truth. When it comes to a source of information like Wikipedia, it'd be nice if someone would put up factual info or very little info so the fans who want to perceive Till in their own way can do so with out being able to say "I read that online" blah blah blah. lol!

Excellent point. Even if they get to know the truth, they somewhat reject it and continue to live with the myths. I fail to understand this kind of attitude. Maybe its' because they want to create "their own vision of Till", which in many cases is a total contradiction to who Till really is (he, his past, and so on).
I've also came across a very interesting theory brought up by one of R plus fans.

"I think people put their own trouble onto their hero's shoulders".

"When there's something in their life that bugs them, they make up that it happened to the hero and he (or she) delt with it in a way the gossiper would have liked to do but didn't have the guts".

That is too bad. I know Mötley Crüe has the same problem. Unless Nikki says it himself, I don't believe. Before when I just listened to the music and never read anything online, I hadn't heard a thing but because of how secluded I was I almost missed this tour, I sure did miss The Scorpions tour, I hope they come back next year. I should find out if Scorpions have a twitter or something.

While it's a little more personal information that I care to read about Till, I appreciate your effort and many references. When I first became interested in R+ I read the Wikipedia article just like so many have done. After watching the interviews from the DVDs and such, I found it hard to believe that all the info on Wikipedia could be true. Doing a little research with references on my own proved that 90% of what was written there was BS. Seems a large amount of "fans" like to believe whatever fits their ideal. If they want to believe Till hated his father and cuts himself on purpose on stage, they will. If they want to believe Du Hast means You Hate and I worship satan, they will.
